Thanx Jill and everyone else!! {{{HUGZ}}}
I only have a few moments before I get back into Halloween mode.
I have the two best big sis' ever!!! We had a wonderful Inspiration Night at an Alpharetta restaurant, then yesterday we carpooled down to Macon. Before initiation, we made tourist stops at the Cannonball House and Martha Hardaway's gravesite.
Ritual was at Weslayan, in the room where the ADPi and Phi Mu artifacts are displayed. (Plus some other antiques from other Weslayan alumnae.) There's no really describing your first ritual, especially when you work long and hard for it. It's everything you dream of, but nothing you can guess or imagine.
TO ALL COLLEGIATE NEW MEMBERS OUT THERE:
Something NOT to say in front of alumnae:
"We don't need control-top hose, we're only 18."
This will get you launched out a window.
Pam saw to it I was serenaded for my birthday after it was over - which was my second-biggest present of the day.
As Pam mentioned, Halloween is big in our neighborhood tonite. For those of you in Atlanta or North Georgia, check out today's AJC "Homefinder" section. My neighborhood (and my house!!!) are featured in a front-page article.
The issue hit the stands on Saturday - so when Pam and Gayle drove me home, the streets were clogged w/ earlybird tourists! (People are cruising the streets all last night and all day today until we close the street for the REAL party.) My front lawn has been transformed into Shrek's swamp (complete with outhouse) and I'm pinning up my red braided wig as I type this. Mr. A is practicing his Scottish braugh to go along w/ his costume. So I had to go right from initiation afterglow, to fighting off thousands of people with candy while dressed up as Princess Fiona. The birthday celebration lasted about 15 minutes.
More posts later, I need to get back to work. Again, thanx to everyone on GC - it was a long 2 years but looking back it was worth every second, good and bad, to know that I'm truly home.
