Hey all! I recently posted on Fraternity Recruitment with some questions. However, it has all been solved =)!

Here at my school, there is only Informal Rush for all fraternities which usually lasts 2 weeks. I only rushed one fraternity (which I will call Ribs) for fall 2007, since I previously rushed another one (which I will call Steak) spring 2006 and did not get a bid in. The problem with Steak was, I rushed to get a bid instead of actually getting the feel of the Fraternity. At the same time, I also found out their recruitment process was terrible (not saying the brothers were bad at all) in terms of how they give out bids.

Some of my dormmates received bids in Steak that spring and wanted me to rush for fall 2007. However, I decided to check out another fraternity (Ribs). I went around the booths during welcome week and I got a feel for each fraternity. It's a little funny how this went... I found myself keep coming back to the events for Ribs and before I knew it a week was over.

This is where it got a little interesting... during the weekend, two of my Roommates got a call from the bros about something. I did not receive anything, so I had assumed I did not receive a bid. Although I was disappointed I figured I would continue with the last week anyways and see what happens.

HOWEVER... as Sunday night rolled along, I was on my way to my car when I hear one of my roommates screaming my name. I ran back to see what happened and I see 2 bros in formal attire from Ribs holding out 2 envelopes. Me and my roommate that had called me received a bid to join the fraternity! Now it's time for the pledging, but I am really excited to see how it turns out! Reading all the stories here got me excited and so I wanted to write out my own experience as well.

My last roommate unfortunately did not receive a bid, but I am encouraging him to continue going to rush events to see what happens in the end!
