A lot.

Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Tau, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Theta Phi Alpha, Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Delta Tau, and my chapter, Delta Phi Epsilon, all joined NPC in 1951. I'm pretty sure SDT was the very last to join that year.

I think I know the reason why as it was explained at the DG. convention in 2004 when we honored an alumna who had many years of distinguished service, including serving as a NPC officer. I believe she was the NPC secretary and kept all the info anyone wanted in a green binder. It is the binder color that became the name of the "green" book. I remember distinctly this speech at a banquet. Everyone went "aha!"

it isn't stated, but it looks like the order was established by the founding date of the 10 founding groups.

Which is older NPC or NIC?

You are correct AZ-Alpha Xi

In answer to your question ...

NPC is older. NIC was founded in 1909.
