Ice Breaker Ideas

What are some ideas for ice breakers you can use for women's groups? I am writing a workshop that will be used for collegians OR collegians and alumnae together.

Thanks for your ideas!

Well there's a chain link one...

Come up with a question like : what do you plan to do to help your chapter, etc. Have everyone write it down on a strip of paper. Go around the room and have everyone staple their strip of paper together as they discuss out loud what they wrote down. You'll get one big link and explain how if one person is a weak link that messes with the goals of the chapter.

Pillowfights anyone?

There are some at http://www.residentassistant.com/games/icebreakers.htm I note some're paid access only now. :-(

Not sure if you have seen that website so let us all know if you have and need more.

ETA: TheEpitome1920's game suggestion is a good one!

ETA2: Hey I looked on my machine and I saved details of CONFUSION, M & M GAME, SELF INTRODUCTION EXERCISE, SOLEMN AND SILENT, SUPERLATIVES and TOILET PAPER GAME; back ages ago when I accessed it (when it was free) so let me know if you want them.

A "penny for your thoughts"... everyone is given a card with a penny on it... everyone shares something significant that happened to them that year. This works great with alums or a mix of alums and actives... may not be as much fun with all college students.

"Truth or not?" Go around the table and share something true about yourself that the rest of the group may not know... then an outrageous untruth. Each table decides who has the best "untruth" that they can say with a straight face... those people share their truth/ untruth with the larger group and you try to guess which is which. This can be really funny!
