Haha ok. Welllllll.........It all begins at home this summer when my friends and I were getting ready to go to college. I am from a lareg metropolitan area, full of schools with pretty big greek populations, where most of my friends are going to. For various reasons (which would probably give away not only where I'm from but the region where I now go to school) I decided to go really far away. My friends kept talking about greek life and how excited they were to join sororites and fraternities, and I got sucked into it. I'd heard that greek life at my school wasn't huge, but it was growing, so I was still excited. So the first night of our recruitment events was a special Q&A section where we met only a couple members of each sorority. My school has five sororites, four NPC and one local. They are:
] Lauren Conrad
Lo
Audrina
Whitney
Stephanie Pratt's Hamster
I'm sorry these pseudonyms suck but I'm not feeling too original at the moment.
Anyway: at the Q&A session, we met our PNM groups and Rho Gammas for the next day (we rotated rho gammas throughout the week). The Rho Gammas led us to each group, which had set up tables. We got to talk to each president and recruitment organizers, and a couple other girls from the sorority. My initial thoughts were:
Lauren Conrad- These girls were very nice, and their table had a cute theme. I loved their shirts too, which had a funny phrase on them. I've heard they are one of the smaller sororites though, which kind of dissapointed me. Overall I didn't really have a negative experience, but it wasn't amazing. Plus, I haven't heard much of this sorority before, even though it's a national. (but I'm not that well-versed)
Lo- I loved Lo the moment I sat down. The president was such a sweet girl, and they all had so much spunk. It was obvious that they LOVED their sorority, and were very knowledgeable about it. I also liked that they seemed pretty involved with their philanthropy. They also were so positive about greek life as a whole, instead of just their sorority. However, a bunch of girls told me this sorority was on probation for something from last year...
Audrina- Much like Lo, Audrina had a lot of spunk. I've heard there's kind of a rivalry between Audrina and Lo, and I could kind of see that from Audrina's repsonses to questions about events (our events are the best! etc.) but it didn't really seem negative, just that the two were competitive. Audrina was also a larger house on campus, though I haven't head of them nationally at all. The girls were really nice and seemed eager to answer questions. I thought I loved Lo, but now I really loved Audrina just as much.
Whitney- While I've actually heard of Whitney, they are a smaller house on campus. Bigger than LC, but definitely smaller than Lo and Audrina. The girls seemed sweet, but I could tell they weren't really me. Still, I'd like to talk to them more.
Stephanie Pratt's Hamster- They seemed very disorganized. Their table wasn't well decorated, and isntead of meeting actives, we only met alums. I've heard rumors that this chapter may be closing. Who knows though.
Since the first day was just discussion, there was no cutting or anything. The next day was Philanthropy day, but I'll wait a little before I get to that....

I don't like Lauren. Her font colour is too hard to read.

I don't like Stephanie Pratt's Hamster for the same reason! That blue hurts my eyes!

I changed some colors around for everyone so here they are finally:
SO....Day 1 was philanthropy day and it started with a twist. I got my list of parties to attend, and Stephanie Pratt's Hamster wasn't on it!!! I looked around and noticed other people were confused as well. Our rho gamma explained that this sorority was having some problems and wasn't supposed to be doing recruitment in the first place. I don't really understand what happened with them still....
Also, before we went anywhere, the rho gamma sat us down and said, "There have been a lot of rumors flying about Lo. Lo is NOT on probation, and never has been. They are an upstanding group of girls, so don't let that enter your thoughts when you meet them!" I was glad to hear that, because I loved Lo. Soooo...I went to my first party.
Lauren Conrad was up first. I was really intimidated when I walked in, because they were chanting before we got there, and it kind of sounded like a scary chant. Once I got in though, I was excited. I noticed that there weren't many girls though. Their decorations were really cute, and their theme was adorable. Every girl I talked to had 2 pnms, ad the other pnm with me was kind of strange. I felt bad, because she didnt talk much and I didn't want to monopolize the conversation. Some of the girls at Lauren seemed really snotty too, but some were really nice. It was hard to know what to think.
Audrina was next. I was so excited to go to Audrina because they had been my favorite after round table. The girls screamed excitedly as we walked in, and they were MUCH bigger than LC. Again, each girl had two PNMS, but this time we got out of order accidently so I had a new PNM with me who I loved. The first girl I talked to was really nice, but I kept trying to ask questions about their philanthropy and she kept talking about this dinner cruise that their sorority sponsors and how its such a cool event. She also told me that if I liked to have fun, I should definitely consider Audrina because they didn't have as strict of rules and partied a lot and my mom would definitely give me a fake ID!!! She also said that the girls at Lo had advisors around all the time and couldn't party much! I like to go to parties as much as anyone, but I thought it was a little trashy to talk about that right away! Especially about another sorority. But I guess the rumors about Lo and Audrinas rivalry were true? The next girl I talked to was very sweet though, told me all about their philanthropy, and what a great sisterhood Audrina had. The next couple girls were very nice as well, but I didn't really bond with anyone.
Next was Lo. I was worried because I'd loved Audrina so much before, and I'd gotten such an awkward response from them. I was so wrong to be worried though! Lo was by far the spunkiest when we entered, jumping up and down and singing a really cute song!! I had it stuck in my head for days! They had a cute golf theme, and the girls had adorable shirts on that said something like "Los always get a hole in one" or something. I t was cuter than that but I don't remember. The girl I talked to was really nice, and she was making an effort to not ask boring questions, which I loved. I'm was undecided, leaning toward one major so she was telling me about all these different clubs and resources, which I loved. She was a senior, and kept talking about how sad she was that it was her last recruitment. By the end of our conversation I wanted to steal her shirt and wear it because I KNEW I was a Lo. The next couple girls were just as amazing as the first, and by the time I left, I was in a state of Lo Euphoria. I was in love.
Whitney was a huge surprise when I walked in. THey were small, but they were loud! I hadn't loved Whitney the day before, but my mind was definitely changed after today. The girls at Whitney were so closely bonded it was obvious. Even though it was the end of the day, they had a lot of energy, and we're very engaging. I asked about the selection process (oops!) because I was really confused at what to do after the events were over. She explained it to me really well, without giving anything away. I thought Whitney was very poised!
At the end of the day, I knew how to rank pretty easily.
Lo
Whitney
Audrina
and
1. LC
I know I had a strange time at Audrina, but I wanted to give them another chance because some of the girls really did seem genuine, and maybe I just got a weirdo on the first day. The next morning I woke up, put on my business casual outfit and headed over to meet my rho gamma....

ok ok I'm back!!!
Sorry! I kept checking for responses and I didn't see any and I thought everyone was bored already!! I'll continue:
The next morning, I got my party list, and I was thrilled to see:
1. Audrina
2. Lo
3. Whitney
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
We had to wear nicer clothes today, and it was pouring like crazy. My hair was stuck to my head, so I felt a little self-concious, but hey.
Audrina- right away, the girls tried to make me feel comfortable. They kept saying, "Wow, you look so great for being drenched in rain!" to everyone. Even though we all looked pretty bad. This time, I was by myself with an active, and I hadn't met her yet. She was really nice, a junior who was from far away like me! I knew it probably wasn't the best idea, but I was really curious about Audrina so I asked her if the party rep was true. She said, "its true that our nationals is less strict than some of the other houses, but we're not all neccessarily party animals". The girls performed a short skit which was really cute, and then I talked to my next girl. She told me all about how strong Audrina's sisterhood was on campus, and how she knew I would fit in so well. I could slowly feel myself falling in love with Audrina. All the girls were so poised and put together, I wanted to be just like them!
On to Lo. Lo's theme was amazing- I won't say what it is, but we walked across a red carpet while we entered and they had fake cameras taking pictures of us. The idea was SO cute! After we talked for a little, the girl in charge of recruitment stood up and told us there was going to be a little performance. Instead of a skit, the sisters did a cute song and dance that was absolutely hilarious. I think I would have been embarrassed to do it, but they were loving it the whole time. Two of the girls I talked to today had my major that Im leaning toward, and were telling me all about internship opportunities and great restaurants to go to in the city. I noticed that they all knew amazing amounts of random facts about each other: "oh you're half-persian? So is this sophomore, and she loves dancing too!" (not true, just an example.) It is so obvious that the Los LOVE each other. I asked about sorority rivalrys on campus, and they said that there really wasn't any. I don't know if I believe that, but I do believe I LOVE lo.
Whitney was again a big surprise. They had an adorable skit (but I still liked Los theme the best!!) and were super friendly to talk to. I met one who lived in the same dorm as I do when she was a freshman, in the same room as I live in! It was funny because she kept telling me to watch out when it rains, and not turn on the air conditioner and the hair dryer (which I've already done!) it was really good to find something in common like that. She was very nostalgic for freshman year and kept telling me to take advantage of it to the fullest. The next girl I talked to was really nice too, but she was a little quiet for my taste. After leaving Whitney, I knew I'd have a hard decision to make.
After a long conversation with my rho gamma I finally ranked:
Lo
Audrina
1.Whitney
I liked whitney, but I think they're too reserved for me.
