Yes, but has it been around as long as the "I'm in the front row, so I'm going to bend over and put my hands on my knees so everyone can see the sisters behind me" pose?

The knee thing we did. We never did the "Sorority Pose". Maybe a regional thing?

The photo cliche that bugs me is the one with several sisters wth their arms around each other and giving a hand sign, shot from the back.

The only hand signs I don't mind are ADPi's diamonds and DG's "popping the gamma"/salute. The rest just look like gang signs.

Hands on waist is more flattering than arms at sides.

The "sorority squat". A classic, haha.

More KSU bid day:
The day starts with taking fun pics hanging out in front of the house waiting to walk over to Bid Night:

It all makes for a really fun day!

the "bent elbows" or hands on the waist is also know as the "skinny arm pose" because well, your arms instantly look skinny! lol

Speaking of poses, there was an interesting pose we noted this year at convention that was "odd". The girls stand front to back in a line with arms bent forward. They then place their hand on top of the girl's arm in front of them or cup their hand under the mid arm of the girl in front of them. It looks like a weird chain of girls. Hoping that doesn't catch on.

I mean the fact that every sorority poses when standing up with their elbows bent instead of their arms at their sides.

We can thank Hollywood for that one. It is actually more flattering that an arm squished to your side but now that every person does it, it looks so unnatural.

Mid 1980s at Maryland the only sorority (out of 18) to do a hand-sign was Tri Delt. For me, any other hand sign looks weird...perhaps with the exception of ADPi's.
I don't even like seeing KDs do them and I've certainly never done it myself. I think they're really starting to go overboard with it.

10 years ago, I am pretty sure we were the only ones doing hand signs on our campus. Maybe, possibly Tri-Delt, but I am pretty sure I never saw it from them.

I agree. Any time I see a handsign from an NPC group, I think it's just a rip-off of the NPHC.
