Boo hiss Braves!
(sorry, my team is sucking right now, and I blame everyone above us even though it's not your fault we're falling apart)

Dream Cruise was fun tonight, but the tire smoke and exhaust fumes under the bridge made me nauseous. I was glad to finally be able to park. It's gonna be worse tomorrow.

I know it makes absolutely no sense, but I am scared to death of turning in my first graduate paper. I spent all day yesterday on it and I said everything I have to say (it's a reaction paper), I just......think it's too much summary and not enough reaction.
Argh! Now, I'm second guessing my ability to do well in graduate school.

Heading out for round 2. But, the weather is really nice, so it should still be fun.

If I had a dollar for every time my big fat thumbs hit a user profile to view instead of a thread while I'm on my iPhone, I'd have a big pile of dollars.

No wonder companies stopped making hosiery/stockings!
You can't get the stupid things past your knees!
Control Top shouldn't mean you have to control your temper while you try to put them on.
Unfortunately the closest chain stores I bought them at quit carrying them or closed.

A friend in grad school introduced me to the greatest thing ever...
Thigh highs. Seriously. I have some of the sticky ones (general every day wear) and some of the shmancy "need a garter belt" ones for...less every day wear .
Way more comfortable than panty hose, they actually fit me, and no muffin-top or rolling of the top of the hose and getting that weird line from that. Plus, easier to go to the bathroom in!
TL;DR: Phoenix loves thigh highs.

So, do they REALLY stay up without garters??? What brand?
I'd have to wear them around the house for a while to make sure they don't fall down, lol.

It makes perfect sense and is totally common. I think my entire cohort spent about a week on our first reaction papers...which I believe were only about a paragraph. Welcome to grad school paranoia. I'm sure you'll do fine.

I'm pretty sure everyone is fine but I'm headed down to the police station to file a report since I didn't do it last night. It was very strange...the other driver was super mad, saying his wife was injured, his car wouldn't start, and demanding all my info. But he refused to let me call the police, an ambulance, or a tow truck. I asked the wife if she needed medical care and she said she wasn't hurt. The guy couldn't give me insurance info because "It's a company car, I don't have that stuff." But I noticed his tags were expired...do companies lend out cars with expired registration? I should have followed my gut and called the police but the guy was pretty intimidating. I'm going to do it now just in case.

I'm glad you're okay. I've only had real car problems twice (someone backed up into the car while I was in the front passenger, and I've blown a tire going to church), so I can't imagine dealing with a car accident.
WIFLSRN: I'm really tired, and I had to move all of my stuff in myself on my seriously messed-up ankle (I hurt it as a senior in HS, and didn't get it looked at then, like a big goober). All I want to do is take a shower, lay out my clothes for chapel tomorrow, then go to bed. But I can't even stand on this stupid ankle without it giving out. I quit.

Thanks for the well wishes, CG. I need them. My biggest concern at this point is balancing school (aka-work) responsibilities with grad school.
My reaction paper was 3-5 pages in response to an article about the disparities that exist among races in academic settings. My "reaction" was just under 4 pages. I think the biggest problem is that up until now, I've always been asked to summarize as opposed to react, so now I'm paranoid. It's due on Thursday. And, I'm already working on the first big project which is due in the middle of September.

You can do it It will take some adjustments at first, but you'll get into a groove of homework/work.
