What's up with all the potholes? We were doing well for a minute, now it's potholes everywhere.

Yo Nupe, why can't you get private messages? I just tried to hit you up.

DrPhil, thanks for the cadbury creme egg wanna-be recipe. I'm in the throes of a sugar coma right now. I'd offer to ship you the results of my attempt(s), however the heat is coming this week and once it sets in, it won't cool down until some time in October. So shipping anything perishable is out of the question.

Netflix I need all five seasons of Streets of San Francisco available, and I need to be able to stream it, none of this disc BS. I realize the show aired before I was born but I just need some Streets in my life, especially the episode with Arnold having 'roid rage.

Happy Resurrection Day! Today was AMAZING. Church was great, family dinner was successful and (almost) drama-free, and my mom gave me my Easter basket! I will ignore the fact that the head of my candy duck was completely and totally melted off. All in all, it was a great day, indeed.

And in honor of LucyKKG:

christiangirl, that bunny is too cute!

I also had a pretty good Easter. There's just something about finally finishing everything about Holy Week that is both satisfying and depressing.

So, for a second there I thought..."Oh, he must be driving down 81 in Pennsylvania." Then, I looked to see you are in Michigan. Take a trip to PA, my friend...you'll be VERY disappointed.

I love 80s teen movies! They are the best! I figure since Family Guy always references them in the show-I should watch some of the classics. What a great idea!

We'd been out Thursday and Friday collecting applications for my husband, and he's got about 10 filled out, but we were only able to get one turned in so far (Holy Week & weekends are not a good time for restaurants)....BUUUUUT.....that one called him yesterday and he has an interview today! I think it's a good choice for him because it's a local chain (14 locations in the Western Carolinas), so they'll probably have decent benefits, but not a huge national corporation so may have more of a small business feel. It's also a Bar & Grill and bit more upscale than what he's worked before (probably a step above something like a Chilis). My husband's major objection is that he doesn't want to be working until 1AM. He preferred the breakfast shift at breakfast-focused restaurants. I told him to give it a chance. Just because he interviews, doesn't mean he's going to get an offer, and just because he gets an offer, doesn't mean he has to take it, and even if he takes an offer, it doesn't mean he's stuck there if he hates it or it just doesn't work.

Side rant on the job search: we've found out that my husband had one of the fastest ticket times in the country at one of the busiest locations in the country (he averages 6 min per order, their region averages 8 minutes per order, the company average is 12 minutes per order), but he doesn't want to put any of that on his applications, because he doesn't want to toot his own horn. HOW THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU GET IN THE DOOR FOR AN INTERVIEW OVER THE 67754 OTHER APPLICANTS???? Thank God he listened to me on the place that's already called.

Wishing your husband lots of luck, AF!
The great thing about the restaurant/hospitality industry is there are so many options, so if this doesn't work out for him, there's no reason to be discouraged

I'm glad Lent is over. I missed soda way too much. Plus, about two weeks into Lent, Moe's got that new coke machine that has like 100+ flavors... and it sat there and taunted me, and I had to watch everyone oooh and aaah over it while all I could have was a variety of flavored lemonades. NO MORE! I WILL TRY EVERY FLAVOR!

Is it one of those where you pick coke or diet coke and then can add your own flavors to it? Those are so cool but I get so overwhelmed- and who really wants grape Coke?

Yep. And I agree, some of the flavors are a little strange. I'm excited to try Coke with lime But a friend of mine got grape Sprite and it smelled like cough syrup lol. She liked the peach Sprite, though.
