First, I'm hoping the baby thrives, what a scary situation.
Second, I LOVE her name. Josie is so pretty.

Agreed.
This hits close to home for me. Mrs. Duggar and I are close in age, and I've had some complications with both pregnancies. With my son, I had high blood pressure, and I've got "moderate" placenta previa with this one. Every time I go to see my OB, I worry that this might happen to us. So far, so good. Prayers for the Duggar family.

Definitely sending my prayers out to the Duggars!!
I'm actually in the middle of watching their most recent episode on TiVo.

No- I'd assume that no news is good news in this case though. Hopefully Momma Duggar and baby are healing and Josie is growing stronger.

Given that the baby is in NICU, and so premature, it's likely that any change from "stable condition" would take a long time. So from an informational perspective, there wouldn't be much to announce, until/unless there were changes.
Unfortunately, it may be quite a while for the baby's status to go from stable to "fair" or whatever the next level "up" is.

Along the lines of what ree says, the condition of a premature baby in the NICU is very unpredictable. One day, they could be showing improvement, and the next day they could have a major problem.
I've heard from NICU moms who said that their baby was doing fine during a visit, but by the time they got home, they had a message asking them to return because he was being rushed into surgery for a bleed.
You never know from day to day. It's very "touch and go." That's probably why there aren't a whole lot of updates about it.

They're saying that baby Josie is doing as well as can be expected for a baby her age.

A convenience store in the town next to the town the Duggars live in, has applied for a beer permit, and at the town meeting on this past WEDNESDAY, Mrs. Duggar showed up to speak against the permit
Personal note - the county is not a dry county, and beer/alcohol is sold in a lot of places - now even in some Walmarts...I've been there at least 7 or 8 times over the past 15 years bc my inlaws live there. Interesting she has so much time on her hands to push her views on the public.
-----------------------------
Excerpt from http://www.4029tv.com/news/22001106/detail.html:
SPRINGDALE, Ark.
Beverage Control Board's decision to deny a beer permit for a local gas station.
The board denied the request Wednesday for the EZ Mart on Sunset Avenue in Springdale.
And for some in the area, it comes as a shock. EZ Mart thought it would get the go-ahead.
Employees at the store said initially, no public officials had objected to their request, until yesterday, when a surprise guest came into the ABC board's meeting to testify.
“I was told the Duggars were there protesting it, and that Mrs. Duggar was up there crying. And she said that she didn't want alcohol in her neighborhood or her town, so we got turned down for it,” said assistant manager Tomie Labeff....

Every time I see this thread bumped, I'm afraid it's going to contain bad news about little Josie!

Me three - stop it guys!
AS to having a baby in the NICU and having fee time - my old coworker came back to work part time while her baby was in the NICU, because you can't do anything for the baby and sitting there 24/7 in the NICU will drive you crazy - you have to get out and do things.

Update from The Today Show this morning:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/351027...-today_people/
The baby is still growing and getting stronger. They hope to bring her home around her "due date" (March 18?), but they are taking things one day at a time.
The pictures of the baby are just so haunting, she's so fragile.
