Need for Ideas
The University of Arizona SID will be helping to host our first ever Aggie Olympics for our college. I know that many of the other Colleges of Ag have these type of activities and we are in need of suggestions for events. So far all we have is a greased pig contest and a mud tug-of-war. Any suggestions? Thanks!

In our high school FFA ag olympics we also had hay stacking (square bales of course), cow chip throwing, an obstacle course of various farm activities (moving sacks of feed, filling feed buckets with water and carrying it a certain distance, etc.), and a tractor driving course where participants drove the tractor forward and backward through poles while pulling a small trailor. You might also consider a chicken chase, horse saddling, calf scramble, or egg toss (which usually turns into the egg scramble).
Hope you have fun!

Howdy! I know they have an Ag olympics here at A&M. We do things like races pulling people on pallats using rope. Dressing up sheep, etc. If I hear of any other things.. I'll let ya know! Good luck!

I've heard of tractor races (the small pedal kind) being held at these as well.

Hi. This is Nicole from the Sigma Chapter. We have an ag olympics here at WIU. I have never participated so I don't know what activities there are but you can contact Jancy at the following e-mail about it. JJLafolot@yahoo.com

My FFA chapter as well as block n bridle here at school have also done pig herding, dizzy dummy roping(each person on a team spins around on a bat 10 times and then tries to rope a roping dummy) and roping off of a bicycle. Good luck!

we held something like that at our school recently. we divided up into teams of 7. some events requried everyone to paticipate and some required 1-4 people. we had a tobacco spittin contest, tractor pull (1 person sat on top to work the break and everyone else gathered around and pushed), egg toss, feed sack race, and wagon backing contest (we pushed a wagon from one end of the arena to the other and had to back it into stacked hay bales without making them fall over) and last but not least tug-of-war. hope this helps.
