All the gowns that were in the display windows here in SF are all gone within 3 days of them putting the sale price signs on the dresses. I suspect there isn't much left because I had thought about swinging by just to see but I thought twice about that. I don't like crazy and add brides to that and it's a ugly combination.

I would think that most of the crazy come through on Back Friday, so you might be safe now? lol.

Oh, my goodness. I'm so tempted to go to Priscilla (there's one right by my home) and just buy a gorgeous white gown. Just to have. Even if I'm only 18. Because they're insanely gorgeous.

So I went to my first bridal appointment today (yay!) and tried on a bunch of dresses. So far, this is my favorite:


It's by Mori Lee, and is gorgeous! I'm not entirely sure if it's the one, I want to do more shopping around, but I do love it.

I always thought it was funny that Costco carried funeral items, but now they also carry wedding dresses. The exclusive to Costco line is by Kirstie Kelly and is called Kirstie Kelly Signature. A few stores are having a traveling show, but there is also a program called "Borrow Me" where a bride can order sample gowns to be sent to her home to try on for family and friends. It costs $35 a dress and once the dresses are mailed back if a dress is selected it will show up at your home within a week! I'm not sure if that is exclusive to just the Costco line or for all of her designs.

There are only 12 gowns in the Costco Signature Collection, and I haven't found any price points. http://www.kirstiekelly.com/signatur...ollection.html Some of her bridesmaids dresses are totes adorbes as the kids say, and quite a few have pockets for my Squirrel Sister agzg and Trunk Up DrPhil to enjoy.

Re: the Costco dresses: ARGH. Strapless, strapless, strapless, one-shoulder, strapless, mostly poufy skirts...I shop at Costco and have have clothing I love that I got there. But combine the typical Costco customer's build with the lack of custom tailoring, and this is NOT the right set of styles for those brides.

Not that anyone appointed me style arbiter for the nation's bargain hunters. I'll just have to watch What Not To Wear and grumble.
