Death by Chocolate

My sorority is holding a Death by Chocolate event and I need help with some ideas for it. Other than the obvious chocolate chip cookies and brownies and Hershey's kisses what are some good, creative ideas that we could do for it? Did anyone do this before? What worked for you?

We did a COB with the theme of "I Dream of Chocolate", and we did a chocolate fondue with strawberrys, pretzels, marshmallows and other things to dip in it. That's all I can remember right now.

My family makes a Dessert called Death by chocolate!

layer the following (parfait style)

- broken up chocolate cake covered in Kalhua or chocolate sauce (depending on whose eating)
- chocolate mouse
- coolwhip
- scor bar.

Usually we do 3 layers of each. Yum!!

chocolate fountain?

Ever heard of a choloate fountain? I don't know how elaborate you want to go but they are fun and yummy! Sort of like fondue but easier. There are a lot of websites you can check out, probably some locals and nationals that ship to you.

One of the best based out of Atlanta:

Good luck!

You could make mud pies with oreo crumbles, chocolate moose, chocolate sprinkles. Serve in plastic kiddie bucket with a kiddie shovel tied to it and toss some gummy worms on top. Serve in a small bowl with a spoon-- could make a cute centerpiece if you are talking about philathropy and your chapter works with kids or has done a beach clean-up, etc...

You can also make serve choc-dipped strawberries-- they are easy to make and taste great!

you can buy a smaller chocolate fountain at some gourmet food stores for cheaper than renting. I know that Le Gourmet Chef (it's in our mall) had one

there are a handful of people who don't like or can't have chocolate, make sure to have plenty of alternatives for them

At a Christmas party we went to recently, the hostess served a thick chocolate fondue, and thin peppermint sticks. Omigosh, was it yummy!!!! mr. honeychile had to be pulled away from them!
