Alpha man elected Mayor
Dr. Willie Adams, an Alpha, was just elected the first Black mayor of my hometown, Albany, GA. If you are a civil rights history buff you may remember Albany as the town that Dr. King was most sadden at his lack of success. Dr. Adams is a graduate of FAMU and Meharry and is an OB/GYN and is married to an AKA.

Great news! I'm sure the residents of Albany will sleep safer, the food will taste better and the quality of life will rise higher under the banner of leadership (and service) of our Hon. Alpha brother Adams. 
...I'm sure bruh will talk "much noise" at the frat meeting this month, too.

Board I am new to this site, but I am a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Beta Nu Sigma Chapter which is the Alumni Chapter in Albany for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. I also serve on the Georgia State Executive Board for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and I want to set the record straight.....
Bro. Willie Adams, Jr, MD is a bonafide, life-member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and a very active and responsive member and dedicated to his fraternity. I am the type of person who just do not put his foot in his mouth, here is documented evidence....
Dr. Adams has been active in Albany and Dougherty County for several years and was recently recognized by his fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma, for his community service. He is not a newcomer to the political arena, having served on the Dougherty County School Board as well as the Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority, Dougherty Aviation Commission, Board of Directors, MAG Mutual Insurance, Chairman, Board of Directors, HCA Palmyra Medical Center. Professionally, Dr. Adams has been in private practice for over 30 years and has served as Chief of Surgery at both Phoebe Putney Memorial and Palmyra Hospitals.

This was the funniest thing I've seen since I've been on GreekChat.
First the Alphas posted the thread that the mayor is an Alpha, then the Sigmas posted a thread in their forum stating that he is a Sigma.(LOL!!!)
Anyway, I looked at his official website and he is a Sigma.

My apologies....I heard from a friend who still lives in Albany that he was an Alpha. That's what I get for believing second hand information! LOL
We should still all be very proud of Dr. Adams!
