Talking Do Not Heat Taco Shells In Toaster Oven

It causes fires, lol

Guess I'll use my Christmas money to buy a new toaster oven to use until we get the oven fixed, lol.

that's USUALLY why it says or has a picture of a conventional oven on the taco box.

I'm sorry to hear about your fire. Important thing is that no one got hurt........you didnt get hurt did you?

I'm sorry you found out the hard way why we shouldn't put taco shells in toaster ovens. I'll remember that for future reference, though.

Something I learned--don't heat those Pop-Tarts with the icing on them in a regular toaster...or if they break off down in there, be sure and clean it out because...well, it can catch on fire.

I've actually done that a couple of times without adverse results. Thank you for posting, Lynn! My luck was bound to run out sooner or later!! *whew*

Wrong. There's one exception:

You can reheat Jack in the Box tacos in a toaster.

Thankfully, I turned around just in time and saw the flames inside the t. oven and unplugged it.

Luckily, no damage except to the toaster oven although I thought that hubby might start a fire on the wooden deck but I convinced him to put the oven on the grill instead.

As for the poptarts, I've noticed that the some-or-more's get really really hot!

Think I'll send this as a reminder to my niece who is off to college next fall!
