I have a black microfiber commuter bag. I travel a lot and its great for holding my laptop and files.
Also, I've emailed one retailer to see if she has any of the Metropolitan bags left. I just don't like its replacement - the Metro - and I'm hoping she has a few left over from last year that she would be willing to sell. I really want an apple green one. I order thru the English Rose and highly recommend them. Are there other retailers I could check out?
I'm so bummed about not being able to order online anymore.

Ohhhh let me go do some comparing and I will edit this post and let you know--- the handles and just like one of my bags, the interior pockets are just like another... and there is no exterior pocket. Let me do some checking for you.
Okay- the handles are like the handles on the "handles" and the pockets are like those inside the "betsy"
It is bigger than the Betsy-- and the sides tie, or untie to allow for more room.

I have several microfiber bags: the turquoise trapeze, pocket hobo, and commuter bag from last spring and magenta Boston bag from this winter. I like them.

ok...so I get home from work tonight and find this in my inbox:
"I am so sorry, I have been sick this week. The tote was sent back to me because I stupidly put the wrong amount of stamps on the package. It should get to you early next week. I am so sorry for the delay."
Soo...should I believe it??? I guess I'll just give her the benefit of the doubt and wait another week, but that's def. it.
Any thoughts?

I'm not a huge fan of Vera, but I spent one weekend looking at a conference room full of them (all shapes, sizes, and colors), and decided they really arn't as bad as I thought. Being the purse junkie that I am, I fell in love with this one:
I don't know if I'll ever get one, (you can get a lot at Target for $71) but maybe if I'm ever in a room with it and have the cash....

hehe...I love the petal Pink too-but I just don't think I'll ever have a use for the Lucy, considering the way it's built (I can't stand "handbags"-I personally need something to go on my shoulder!

I can't decide if I like the microfiber or not, so I'm gonna hold off on the purse. I do really need a new makeup bag, though, and I think the Piccadilly Plum is really pretty...

Dallas Girls - The Hallmark store at Stonebrier has a good selection of Vera. I went there today. Came home empty-handed though. I just don't like the Metro bag. I've tried and tried to like it, but that adjustable strap just looks odd to me.
Shouldn't the discontinued styles and patterns be cheaper? Today I saw some items in 'Catherine' and they were full price. Thats a pretty pattern, but I'm not paying full price for something thats been discontinued for a while.

Awesome! Did you see the Katherine pattern there???
I think retired pattern prices vary by popularity-I mean, I've seen Katherine and Bee's bags go for wayyyyyyy more than the original price, but then again, alot of people love em. I'd kill for a duffle in katherine, lol.

Pinkiebell - I saw a couple of diaper bags in the Katherine pattern. They had a good selection of the newer patterns, too.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the English Rose on whether they have any more Metropolitan bags. Keep your fingers crossed.

awww...darn! I love Katherine, but I won't need a bag that size for a VERY long time! lol
did you try amongtheflowers as well??? I think that they'd end up being a little easier to get ahold of; who knows though.

Some places discount the retired patterns, others don't. A lot of the Hallmarks near me don't, which is why I see more retired patterns there than in other places.
If you are anywhere near a Crabtree & Evelyn Outlet, they carry retired Vera Bradley things. The one near me had quite a few Katherine things...they're also good for limited edition things. Vera things there are always at least 30% off.
