What is RBD?

Recycling Black Dollars (RBD) Communications is a conscious effort on the part of Black business men and women, professionals, entrepreneurs and consumers to control economic resources and create jobs, commercial exchange and community stability. The genesis of RBD occurred in 1988.

Recycling Black Dollars’ Mission & Core Values

Recycling Black Dollars as an organization relies on its mission to provide a focus for our activities. Our mission is our Alpha and Omega; we are governed by the tenets that we promulgate and are bound by the scope of our core values. The litmus test is whether or not we are consistent in the dispensation of our duties and responsibilities. Any activities that we engage in must always reflect our commitment as “black professionals rendering quality services to all.”

Recycling Black Dollars’ Core Values define who we are and what matters most to our organization. We have set fundamental operating principles based on a set of shared beliefs that outline how staff members should act when dealing with fellow members, our corporate partners and the general public. These core values are the steering mechanism that guides us to be the best and expect excellence from members of the organization.

Facilitate greater participation of African Americans in the Free Enterprise System of America. We promote the exchange of goods and services between African Americans and foster greater exchange with Majority Corporations by African Americans.

Core Values
Professionalism and accountability: We promise to set a standard of professionalism that is consistent with the expectations of all practitioners in American commerce. We thereby hold ourselves accountable to the consumers of our services and stand behind our services with the utmost in integrity.
Customer service excellence: We endeavor to deliver to our customers a level of service that is exemplary and exceeds the expectations of our customers.
Teamwork: We recognize and rely upon the belief that we are only as strong as our weakest link; we therefore take every position within the framework of the organization seriously and acknowledge the importance of every team member’s contribution.
Community relations: We understand the importance of our role in our community and value the opportunity we have been afforded to make our community more vibrant through our efforts to bring economic vitality and stability to our community.
Balance: Within the scope of building a viable organization, we recognize the importance of assisting team members strike a healthy balance between work and family concerns.
Integrity: Because of the negative perceptions that linger about black businesses, we make a concerted effort to conduct all business in an ethical manner that is beyond reproach.
Passion for results: We act with pure passion, zeal and tenacity in everything that we do.
