Rho Chi usage
It is my understanding that we are to no longer use the term Rho Chi because it is an honor society and it is misuse of their name.
We were informed of this by our Greekl Life advisor...has anyone else heard this?

We began using the term Rho Gam now in place of Rho Chi because of this.

Some campus have switched to Rho Alpha (Recruitment Advisors) and others to Rho Gamma (Recruitment Guides). Many people still continue to use Rho Chi.
It's kind of like "Rush" and "Pledge"...we are discouraged from using these terms, but many people still do. When I went through Recruitment, I had Rho Chis and when was a Recruitment Counselor last year, the term was still Rho Chi. It will always be Rho Chi to me.

I was curious about this too, so I emailed my National Panhellenic Delegate because I am helping out my school's VP Recruitment with this semester's recruitment. She said that for now we can use whatever we want, but in the fall NPC will decide what to do, they are thinking about having a contest to come up with the name. Hope this helps!

At our school we are calling them Rho Gammas. I heard it was because that Rho Chi is a fraternity of some sort. I just heard it from my cousin who is an AXO. But all the national sororities on campus have the Rho Gamma pictures blocked out and names changed on their websites. So I am assuming this is fact.
