Cheer / Pom Squads that are the majority Greek

I was at the University of Tulsa for Homecoming (10/23) and almost the entire female members of the Cheer & Pom Squads are Greek.

Pom Squad - 100% Greek http://www.tulsahurricane.com/news/2...818155958.aspx
XO - Meghan Spivak, Kaitlin Kercher
DDD - Emily Collier, Aryn McKee, Katherine Feist
DG - Jordin Heckney, Harley Matheson, Elizabeth Craig,
Theta - Paige Bennett, Kaitlin Mar, Claire Wood, Claire Collard, Erin Wilcox
KD - Erica Raguse

Cheer Squad - 90.9% Greek (10 of 11) http://www.tulsahurricane.com/news/2...818155333.aspx
XO - Aubrey Hercyk, Cassidy Meisinger
DG - Abby Archer, Ashley Cloud, Carley Copeland, Salley Eccles (she transferred before Fall classes started), Alexandra Glann, Sarah Hentges, Jessica Peter
Theta - Jennifer Shelton
unaffiliated - Charity Barton
2 of the guys on coed cheer are in KA & LXA, but some had no facebook profile.

Any other schools where there is such a proliferation of Greeks on the Spirit Squads?

I don't have numbers in front of me, but Clemson's cheerleading and Rally Cat (dancing) squads seem to be very Greek as well. A lot of cheerleaders and Rally Cats are in my chapter which is pretty cool

Isn't there a Phi Sigma Sigma chapter that was founded by the cheerleading squad? I want to say Coastal Carolina?

The cheerleading squad at W&L has a LOT of Pi Phis -- they had a halftime reception at the house during parents' weekend and there were a ton of cheerleaders who made the very short trek from the stadium, then left again shortly.

University of Washington Cheer & Dance

I don't know exactly how they divide the squad, but I think there's a co-ed spirit team and a dance team. It's a big group all together.

Here are just some of the members and chapters they belong to:

* Yazmin Richter - Kappa Alpha Theta
* Tessa Lombard-Henley - Kappa Kappa Gamma
* Randi Mendel - Alpha Gamma Delta
* Paige Snider - Delta Gamma
* Olivia Gheradini - Pi Beta Phi
* Miki Saito - Delta Gamma
* Megan Ingram - Pi Beta Phi
* Jade Carson - Delta Delta Delta
* Jackie Lin - Delta Zeta
* Hailey Kiggins - Kappa Alpha Theta
* Cassidy Bucholz - Kappa Alpha Theta
* Nikki Buchanan - Chi Omega
* Lindsy Russell - Alpha Phi
* Lexi Nunes - Alpha Phi
* Kristen Wear - Alpha Gamma Delta
* Karli Berger - Alpha Phi
* Tatum Bartlett - Alpha Phi
* Annie Millspaugh - Gamma Phi Beta

Cheer enthusiast here!

I don't attend these schools but I wonder how Greek the most competitive college teams are? (ex: the top 5 teams at NCA/UCA like UK, Louisville, Morehead, Texas Tech, Bama, etc.)

I think the easier question to answer would be what schools have cheerleaders who are not overwhelmingly Greek.

Every school that I am familiar with has a cheerleading squad where the females** are almost all Greek. The types of girls who spend a lifetime in cheer, and thus have the ability to make a college squad, are the same personalities that typically are interested in the Greek system. In addition, those same girls who have spent most of their lives being outgoing and in front of groups, are not intimidated by the recruitment process. Finally, they are used to group dynamics and conforming to policies so the structure and rules of being in a sorority is not new or a turn-off for them.

Their cheers squads have likely been mini-sororities from a social standpoint for years. It's a natural fit for them to pursue sorority life.

**things may be different on the male side of things

Another cheer enthusiast here - I almost went to Texas Tech, and if you make the cheer team you aren't allowed to participate in formal recruitment, so their team is likely less Greek than many other schools. Obviously they can still do spring recruitment, but I think having to do spring recruitment would mean there were less Greek girls since formal is when the majority of girls join.
