That's unfortunate then. The members think it's AEPhi. I wonder who it will be then.

At UGa and USC, they do. They are more akin to Bama in not having an outlier house. Critical mass is necessary for Village II since it is separated from Village I by a highway and rail line. NCSU is another school where not being in the Village or immediately proximate can be detrimental (one fraternity being the exception). Since NCSU embarked on its expansion program in 2000, all NPC groups have taken over fraternity houses or built in the Village. UNC-CH and UVa have traditionally had houses in multiple locations. Clemson has dorms; GT is landlocked essentially; Duke has dorms; Tech has concentrated housing. ECU is interesting b/c some houses are outside the traditional sorority area and there is discussion abiut it being a bit of a challenge. In the SE, you need to fit the pattern established for the school.

Okay, that's a lot more "off the row" than I was thinking of. It makes sense that would be an issue. I was thinking more about houses that are still pretty central to campus, but just not by the other Greek houses.

I've since learned that things have changed, and it is indeed AEPhi.

Wonderful. Haha. Is it bad I'm hoping that when we colonize both at USC and NCSU we won't have to be the house that's "out in the sticks" comparatively?

Also, for anyone interested to know, there is room to build on GT's campus. It just requires some demolition first. From what I'm told, Alpha Phi was supposed to break ground on their construction of their new house in June. That hasn't happened yet, but the architect Hug & Associates, have a whole site plan on their website portfolio for the campus, which details future building sites. And for the groups that can't build out, they build up. They've actually had a pretty good amount of new greek housing constructed lately. And I believe there are some additions/renovations planned since chapter sizes are getting pretty big.

Hi LaneSig:

Phi Kappa Tau at Washington State has lost its university recognition. The fraternity will continue to appeal.

http://www.dailyevergreen.com/news/a...ff33a058d.html

“loss of recognition will now last until Aug. 1, 2017”

Also:

http://www.voiceofthevalley.com/comm...378a5c6ad.html

Edited to add: And this news piece, because it's so sadly funny in a way:

http://media.spokesman.com/documents...violations.pdf

The report immediately above ^^ mentions a Phi Tau member who was hospitalized because of “dehydration and nerve damage,” which had resulted from being duct taped to a broom. The duct taping was reportedly to keep the member from “rolling onto his back while unconscious and choking on his own vomit.”

Okay. I suppose in a way that was meant to be a caring gesture. It still doesn’t sound exactly like cutting-edge modern scientific medicine. Doesn’t even sound like taking him to an ER for possible alcohol poisoning, or calling some paramedics.

Within the article quoted above, it is mentioned there are three types of ownership of NPC homes/land at UK. Are all the NPC homes at UK currently considered "on campus" as far as their home address/property location? I recall years ago at least one home was not known to be "on campus" because of their location. Is that home now considered within campus proper? How about the newest homes?

Zeta Alpha Pi, local sorority at Kenyon College, is exploring the idea of affiliating with an NPC chapter. This year, another local affiliated with Alpha Sigma Tau.

There are 4: Kappa Sigma Alpha/AST and 3 locals

ETA: It says that Kappa Sigma Alpha just established itself on campus 2 years ago. Does anyone know if they formed a local intending to quickly affiliate with a national organization?

Not sure if it's been posted or not, but Alpha Delta Pi will be colonizing at Camp Rollins, I mean, Rollins College, next semester.
