But the point still exists that even for the chapters she didn't pledge, there may be an alum going through and finding out what's what. That doesn't mean the OP is in trouble, just that she isn't invisible.

From personal knowledge, at Ole Miss with over 1,300 PNMs, we know if someone has been through the process here at Ole Miss. Sophomores and Juniors can be assets or liabilities so their baggage is carefully investigated. This is also why UC quota may not be filled. Collegiates know if someone went through recruitment previously sometimes before the alumnae. We also probably know if they went through on another campus. Maybe it's just that our Southern grapevine works more like a fiber optic cable?

Keep in mind that not all Big 10 schools are the same- for example Ohio State and Indiana University are both Big 10-- but rush at each school is COMPLETELY different (I know you aren't at either of these since they have winter recruitment, but you get the idea). So it might not be that big of a deal at one Big 10 school, but a deal breaker at another.

I dunno - fiber optic cable signal strength gets diluted the more people that tap into it and "The Machine" only seems to get bigger...
