In Memoriam: Brother Charles Herbert Flowers

Brother Charles Herbert Flowers, Tau Psi (North Carolina College, now NCCU) '47, passed away Friday, 28 January 2011. He was a Tuskegee Airman who graduated at the top of his class and became a Flight Instructor, served as the first SGA President of North Carolina College, and was a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He lived a life of Christian manhood and service, embodying the Four Cardinal Principles of Omega Psi Phi. A high school in Prince George's County, Maryland is named in his honor. He was the Keynote Speaker at Tau Psi Chapter's 75th Anniversary Reunion Breakfast in Durham, NC in 2007. Memory Eternal!

RIP Dr. Flowers. he was the highest example of an NCCU eagle.

I had the honor of meeting him (briefly) a couple of years ago when presenting scholarship awards to several students that attended Flowers.

What an amazing life and legacy!
