RIP Sydney Gremillion Allen, former NPC Chairman

Today is a sad day for our sisterhood.

Alpha Sigma Alpha National Headquarters, Indianapolis - Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority is saddened to announce the loss of Sidney Gremillion Allen,YY. Sidney served as the chairman of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) from 1985 to 1987.


Sidney held various volunteer roles within the sorority, including national vice president of alumnae programs from 1976-78, before serving as Alpha Sigma Alpha's delegate to NPC from 1978-92. She remained on Alpha Sigma Alpha's NPC delegation after her rotation as NPC chairman. Sidney volunteered for the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation serving on its board as treasurer 1998-99 and secretary 2000-02.

Oh, no! She was such a lovely and accomplished woman (and oh, that accent). It always makes me glad that she got to see the rebirth of her collegiate chapter - no one deserved it more.

Rest in peace, my sister!
