^^^ have never seen anything like that. Wonder: is it a custom order, rather than being something ordered out of a catalog? and what's the vintage?

I am not sure. No marks on the ring. My guess is that it was offered by "one" of the official jewelers.

And now, the most special...
The badge of the Chi Omega National President.
This diamond badge was presented to Elizabeth Orman, S.H. (Natl. Pres.) in 1978 by the state of Mississippi alumnae. It is a non-regulation badge with 7 full-cut diamonds (rather than the typical 14). A couple of years later, when Kirk Bell Cocke was S.H., our then official jeweler, Jerry Pollack, mounted the badge on the outline of the Chi Omega crest and surrounded it with 14 diamonds.
The S.H. badge can be worn as a pin or it can hang on a necklace.

Does anyone have a copy of Baird's and would be willing to look something up for me? I just came across an auction that seems to be including false information about an Alpha Xi badge to make the badge seem much older than it is. There's a few clues that point it it being not as older as the listing says it is, but I hope to get a little more proof.
