I'm sure glad we were finished eating (inside) when we saw the guy outside spraying for spiders. Lunch was great .. AzTheta wasn't nearly as grumpy as she's letting on. But I don't blame her for begin upset that her new badge isn't here yet.

I'm ready to personally tell them what's up if they can't figure out their story and get you that badge soon!

sigmagirl, I was teasing you! Hope you know that! And those three like to pick on me. I'm getting back at AOII Angel this morning on purpose by posting this. Considering we're in the same time zone she should know I don't have my badge at 6:00 am on Tuesday but hey, it's worth poking her anyway. Why not?

Oh I figured as much, I'm just anxious to see your treasure. It better be worth it! (How about on your next one you throw on some opals, and I'll trade our some garnets, rubies, or amethysts with you?)

Ha- when I saw sigmagirl's very innocent and excited post come through, I couldn't help but laugh and cringe at the same time. We've been doing our fair share of pestering her too. We know what the ____ are and darnit, I want to see it!! (although probably slightly less than AzTheta does )
On the bright side, it looks like you've got a squad lined up to get that badge from JLS. Its almost like they weren't expecting the amount of business that comes with such a large organization (does anyone else use them?) and are panicking, trying to find every possible excuse rather than just owning up to the delay. *sigh*

OK AOII Blonde person, nice try, and it's only 8:30 am so no badge yet.
thetygerlily - J Lewis Small is based in Elwood Indiana (where is that? it's east of the Rockies so I'm lost) and does class rings and recognition awards, according to their website. I believe we're their only account at present but I'm likely wrong on that, I'm wrong on many things lately. Whatever. I've seen their craftsmanship on our badges, and it's stellar. The badges are mindblowingly beautiful. You can tell the difference when you see and hold one. So it's going to be worth it.
And, my hope is that they will resurrect the Dyer style badge - they are certainly capable of executing one. That's how good their jewelry is. Seriously.
What I wouldn't give for a plain Dyer - no jewels, just an elegant kite...

If you need people to knock down their door to get that stellar quality badge, you know where to turn!
Perhaps you can place a few bugs in the right ears for your sequicentennial? A Dyer style would be rather nice for that celebration...

That quality don't mean a thing if you don't get it in your hands! The troops are rallying. JLS better watch out!

There are so many pages here, I really don't know where to begin to look.....
For those of you who are Badge Experts, I have a question for you:
As you may know from other threads, I am pretty much the "lead volunteer" for a professional arts fraternity. (My title is Executive Director, but it is pro bono work.)
Some of us have been toying around with the idea of the organization's badge. I won't spoil any surprises about design, but I did have a question about metal.
Suppose we wanted the badge to only be available in silver, for ritualistic purposes. Is that actually more expensive than some "gold" badges?
Basically, I don't want us to be ritualistically stuck to a certain metal, unless we can get silver and "silver."
Hope that made sense.

I don't really have a frame of reference for the prices though... if somebody could narrow down an organization on HJ Greek that for certain uses both options, that would be helpful.

I don't know of any badge that is straight out silver, just Sterling Silver, which includes the Alpha Gamma Delta plain badge, but our prices don't show. I do know that if you look under HJGreek honorary and professional category, you're more likely to find prices. For example Alpha Omega Epsilon has a badge in a gold material and sterling silver, with prices. From my understanding silver is quite costly now, but even before that, SS was used often, and much less expensive.
I prefer SS to white gold anyway, as some white gold has nickel and can cause allergic reactions for some, whereas that isn't the case for SS.
