I love the old photos also. The one you posted, I think I saw it in Frater Lawrence Ross' book The Divine Nine.

Tri Delta Pansy Breakfast at USC----1957
This was a photo from the Los Angeles Times from the Pansy Breakfast which was held in the front garden at the Tri Delta chapter house at USC. Greek women were guests at the breakfast and announced their engagement by stepping through the Pansy Ring. Pictured here is Tri Delta, Judy Green, who wore a long white wedding gown in this photo from 1957. Judy was also a Homecoming Princess at SC.
The event was covered by the Times and was one of the city's social events in that era.
This chapter originated the Pansy Breakfast. It is now held by chapters across the country as a spring event honoring graduating seniors.

The USC Digital Library archives have a bunch of great retro sorority photographs.
http://digitallibrary.usc.edu/search...ller/index.htm
Just enter 'sorority' in the search field.
This is probably true of many digital archives of universities with strong tradition ties to their Greek community

A lot of those pictures are in this thread, I should know I used the USC Digital library to find them and put them here

Just noticed a whole bunch on the University of Illinois Greek Life Page:

Kappa Alpha Psi - no date listed

Acacia - no date listed
Alpha Chi Omega - 1989

Delta Gamma - 1997 (although I think we're still a few years away from '97 being retro!)

Greek Week photo - 1991

You have to wonder about yourself when you check out the Retro Pictures to make sure you're not IN any of them!

LOL, I know, Honey! And I looked at those 1989 Alpha Chi gals upthread and thought, "They look pretty normal to me!"

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that! LOL!
I looked at the 1991 Illini Greek Week one and felt instantly at home with the look and feel of the group.

From the Corolla (Bama) online archives:
Charter members of Eta Chapter of ADPi (still known at the time as Alpha Delta Phi), 1907. "Pi Kappa Kappa" in the composite is the name of the local.
"W. Hibbler" = Wildie Churchill Hibbler, Katie Couric's paternal grandmother.

It's late (or early) and I can't sleep, so I've decided to contribute to this awesome thread. The following images are from "Panther Tracks", the University of Pittsburgh yearbook from 1987. Enjoy!
Kappa Alpha Theta
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Sigma Sigma Sigma
Chi Omega
Delta Zeta
Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
Delta Phi Epsilon
Delta Delta Delta
Kappa Delta
Hoped you liked these!

^^^^^ Those look totally normal to me (graduated from college in '87). I do feel a need to point out that we called that hair cut a bi-level, not a mullet. And we never said anything about business in the front and party in the back. Bi-level. It definitely helped tame the perm and keep it away from the face while giving you lovely height in the bangs at the same time.

KR: the HAIR. the HAIR! I somehow have gone my entire life with no perm, ever. Yikes.

Also from Panther Prints, the 1981 issue:
Back In The Day some chapters used the rainbow as an unofficial symbol, standing for unity. (I believe our Epsilon chapter still calls its polish week Rainbow Week.)
