Musical chairs in Mizzou's Greektown

My own thread about the new Chi O house at Mizzou led me to ask if anyone knows the status of chapter housing there:

During ATO's suspension, Tri-Sigma has rented their house.
Tri-Sigma will move to their own (brand new) house and Chi O will move into ATO while theirs is under construction.

Meanwhile, Sigma Kappa is recolonizing at Mizzou. They have rented their house to Pi Kappa Phi. [I have an interest because AGD sold the house to SK in the early 90's.] So: where is Pi Kapp going?

SAE is suspended. TKE is living in their house. ("Oak Hill." Very elegant:
http://www.missouritke.org/main.php?...=houseoverview) Presumably SAE wants to come back. (http://www.mizzousae.net/ makes it very clear that it's their house!)

Delta Sigma Phi moved back to their original house (it was AEPhi when I was on campus). http://www.mudeltasig.com/index.php?...bum&albumid=17 Who's in the house Delta Sig occupied prior to this renovation/move?

Sounds like someone needs to make a flowchart or spreadsheet to track it all

The sequence for 805 Richmond, as I understand it:
Delta Sigma Phi -- Alpha Epsilon Phi -- Alpha Kappa Lambda -- Delta Sigma Phi. (Did Delta Sig retain the title to the property all along??? I don't know.)

I was a senior when they left campus, and all I remember is that 2012 was their first opportunity to come back.

I know last year Beta rented the former Delta Sigma house between Kappa and KD. Not sure if it was just for officers, or if pledges lived there too, because I know some of their guys had off campus housing included in their housing contracts while construction was going on.

Pike did something similar while their house was undergoing renovations.

There is one....somewhere. I think there was an older Mizzou housing thread on GC that linked to a series of Greektown Maps in the MU Archives? I'll see if I can find it.

I found the answer to my question by finding the Pi Kapp chapter on FB. This may not be of interest to very many of you, but I'm glad I now know!

Here's what one of the alums wrote: "I drove by Greek Town yesterday and it looks like there will be construction at the old 500 E Rollins site by Alpha Gamma Sigma. It has been fenced off and has a AgSig sign on the property. I know we weren't expected to get that corner back....I was holding out hope that the Pi Kapps would return to that corner. I told you this past Spring that the Pi Kapps were moving out of the Sigma Kappa house and into the old Delta Sigma Phi house next to Kappa Delta. Hopefully if all goes as planned they will build a NEW HOUSE on the 505 E Rollins corner across the street from Lewis & Clark Hall. Right now there is an apartment building there but the owner wants to sell to PKP. Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority just built a brand new house at 507 E Rollins so at least bit we'd be neighbors to the newest sorority on campus."

There is so little property in Greektown or anywhere near it....it's amazing that there are any of those old houses (the kind so common to most college campuses: divided into apartments decades ago) left to tear down.

Mizzou update

From the Winter 2013 issue of MizzouMagazine (from the alumni association).
The story includes a photo of the grandly renovated Beta Theta Pi house and information about 6 other chapters' renovations/new construction.

Fingerprint scanners?

Wonder how long that will last.

Based on the crappy applicant fingerprints we get...

Quite a few houses on my campus have had fingerprint scanners for a couple of years and it's worked out well. I think it actually just does your thumb.

Biometric methods of authentication are very accurate. I think it is a great idea. They use them for access to secure data centers. You don't have to deal with keys or smart cards, or worry about someone giving out a combination. A lot of laptops come with finger print scanners too. They are much better authentication devices than passwords!

Lynn.. they don't start with paper fingerprints. It is all electronic. Each individual gets swiped initially to configure it in.

Underground parking sounds great. I have tried to like the new Sigma Sigma Sigma house, but I just can't.

I hate to say it...but I agree with you. I liked the rendering, but looking at the other houses and what they are going to do with Sigma Kappa's house....yea...

I shouldn't say this and I don't want to say it....but I have to....I kind of, sort of liken it to ADPi's old house at Ole Miss..

And I truly believe because of the orientation of the lot they were giving, you can only do so much with that

::hangs head in shame::
