Update: it appears that all four fraternities on my campus are going to be having "informal spring rush." Although I'm a little confused as to how it's "informall" vs fall rush being "formal" (it wasn'tt) can anyone who is familiar with the idea of spring rush maybe tell me if it works any differently/ offer any advice specific to it? Obviously it's gonna be smaller with far less people rushing, but does that help or hurt my cause? Are fraternities , in anyone's experience, kind of reluctant to give out many bids in the spring in general or is the attitude the same as fall rush, just on a smaller scale

Honestly it depends on the campus. At NJIT the spring was actually usually the bigger classes because the school had implemented deferred pledging, so we couldn't pledge first semesters.

The thing is here first year students can't rush at all. So the only people in spring would be the sophomores and up who didn't rush and/or pledge in the fall for whatever reason but then do so in the spring.
