Ideas for B-day gift.?
My best guy friend here at school has a birthday coming up...I want to do something really special besides taking him out to dinner and just getting him a present. Because I'm actually in love with him, but he doesn't know this...His birthday is on the 20th so I'm running out of time here.

i have been through this a ton of times and i have a brother so hopefully what i think is good will like appeal to you too.
*cute rugged AF hat
*burn a cd for him with his type of music on it
*just a t-shirt from jcrew, banana, AF, structure or what ever his taste my be
*card and a picture of you two
*great smelling cologne
*funny type of crazy humorous gift.. everyone likes to get a good laugh out on their b'day
*something not too expensive... or not expensive at all that he mentioned he wanted/needed
I don't know what kind of relationship ya'll have, but i hope i could help some

Also maybe some personal touches--
Like homemade goods--for example, homemade brownies/sweets, or homemade pillow...
I know guys love it when they see you've taken the time to pick out something they'll really like!! Especially when you made it yourself! . I wish you the best of luck in finding a gift, and the best of luck in hopefully a relationship!!

Oh wait, I just reread your post, Hilary, and you said that you wanted to do something in addition to a dinner/present. OK, I think there was an article in one of my magazines a while back about that...lemme search for that ok? I'll get back to you on that one!

OK FOUND IT!! This will be a little long--so prepare yourself! (This came from a Valentine's edition.)
One star--"I feel kind of weird giving you something for V-Day, I like you, but I'm just not sure how much."
Two Stars-"OK, I'm ready to go out on a limb here. The more I get to know you, the more Iwant to know you better."
Three Stars-"Could you possibly be as fine as you seem? I'm falling for you big time!"
Four Stars--"You have made me forget that Gavin Rossdale even exists. There's no one else for me."
Here goes...Two (stars)-Bake him cookies using the family secret recipe.
three-Make him a card.
two-Give him a magazine about a subject you think interst him.
four (stars)-email him a wildly romantic love poem.
two-ask him out--and pick up the tab.
two-take photos of him skateboarding, shooting hoops, and throwing a Frisbee, and put best pics in a funky, homemade frame.
3-make him a cassette of love songs.
4-buy him a bottle of cologne and tell him the scent makes you swoon.
3-(haha this is funny) Give him a photo of you sunbathing this summer.
2-Ask if you can borrow his car, then wash and wax it and vacuum up all those Cheetos crumbs around the gear shift.
2-Gift his studious side w/a heart-shaped paeperweight.
4-Buy him an ID Bracelet.
1-Show your unimaginative side w/a gift certificate.
3-Invite him over for Mushy Video Night: rent True Romance or Far and Away.
Four-Get him a little black book with all the pages ripped out except the one with YOUR number on it.
OK, lots of these are cheesy, but hopefully some of these ideas will work for you, or give you an idea!! HTH!!

oh wow! sorry! i didnt really read carefully.. just the top of birthday gift! sorry! i would take him out to a pretty place.. like for instance here where i live, it's great going out on this big cliff where you have to talk up these stairs to get there and it's all dark so it can be fun and when you get to the top theres these benches and you can sit there on the edge and look down and u see tons of lights and the lake is down there! great and very romantic! so something of that sort would be good.. it sets the occasion

Where would ya'll get the ID bracelets? Would you put his name on it or.... what? And would he actually wear it or think it's sissy? Sorry just wondering.
