I felt so bad to miss my uncle's event. It was super important to him and I've had it on the calendar for weeks, but he understands that the money is too nice to pass up. But holy moly I'm exhausted. Four small children (and 2 dogs) at once is a bear but they're finally all asleep and I just finished cleaning the kitchen. Anotehr day in the life.

IL Now that I'm talking about this family again, I just realize I never responded to this. Things were fine until last night. He threw another tantrum, this one MUCH worse than the last. Full on turned into the Hulk, throwing things, punching the mattress, screaming like he was possessed. I planned to just let him tire himself out...until he punched me. He's only 4 so it didn't hurt but Madea rose up within me like the DEVIL. I nearly strangled that little somebody. You don't have a hurt a child to scare the mess out of him and I sure did--he's never seen me so angry with him. When his mom came home, we had a sitdown about her son and she gave me permission to spank him if he gets like that again (which I'm sure I'll never use). Today, he threw another tantrum but I ignored him for 10 minutes and he got it together on his own. We spent the rest of the day playing together and he was fine.

WIFLS: I leave for Ecuador in two days for my immersion trip! I'm having a hard time packing though

Sad to learn that a young 20-ish girl died of a brain aneurysm today. I didn't know her but she was best friends with some of the AGD girls I had advised.
That, and the young lady who is battling the skin-eating bacteria..
If bad things come in 3's, I don't want to know what the 3rd one is.

I've never gone by that quote. I've noticed that there are so many bad things happening in the world at any given time, you could always find 3 and say "See, they come in 3s." If it spills over to 4, then it changes to "They come in 7s so 3 more are coming." If it goes to 8, then it's "That was 7 so 2 more are coming to make another 3."
