Not to mention that in some cases it made young women look about 3 1/2 to four months along.

Just got a text from my cousin, sounds like pretty good news. She said today went pretty well and she loves the people in her group as well as most of the organizations she's met. She had to get up early, and she sounded really tired, so it was a relatively short exchange of text messages. She said she's getting her schedule tomorrow, although she's not sure what time exactly, although she's really nervous and excited about where she'll be ending up. Hopefully all goes well!
Good luck to all others during recruitment at UGA!

Hey all and thanks for your notes of encouragement! My daughter just sent me a text and she's thrilled to be invited back to 11 houses. Total number was 12. Four invites were ones she had to rank and, in her words, she thoroughly enjoyed all of the houses...why do I have to rank now? Again in her words, "there are some bummed girls who weren't invited back to certain houses and I don't think anyone from my group dropped out." Her group has 4 upperclassmen and I can't recall the total number to her group. She thought all in all the overall number of girls looked pretty much the same as round 1. Today is T-shirt day which I think is wonderful!! Both sides are wearing t-shirts with shorts/skirts and flats to make for a very comfortable day! I know that there will be very heavy cuts after today, so I'm keeping myself double-extra occupied until 7 or so tomorrow a.m.

BeachMom, that's terrific! My cousin is very blessed to have been invited back to 11 houses as well! There are only 2 that she feels she doesn't connect the best with (although she did like the girls!), which she got invited back to. The lone organization that did not invite her back was, in her words, "in the middle of the pack." She was somewhat surprised, but doesn't consider it a huge blow. She is keeping an open mind, although there are 2-3 that she likes a cut above the rest. And, ah, yes, t-shirt day it is! I cannot tell you how excited she seems for it.
In other news, her roommate, who is her best friend from high school, got invited to 9 houses. From what my cousin told me, her friend doesn't seem to have any clear cut favorites, she likes all of the girls/houses she's met.
Hopefully I'll be hearing some good news later on!

I can't believe they have t-shirts for this round! Never thought that would happen at UGA...not that its a bad thing! I wonder why they chose this round to wear them? I think they would have been great for round 1; take a little pressure off the PNMs for the first parties.

I agree. I remember dressing up everyday. I think it is an icebreaker. Cannot wait to see the pics from this round today. Wishing all the sororities and PNMs much luck. I remember how stressful it was on both ends of the stick. UGA has such a fantastic greek system that no matter where the PNMs get bids they will be part of a great greek family. Keep posting updates.
