UT-San Antonio
Trippled last years total and raised....
12,000lbs of canned goods donated to the san antonio food bank. Felt really good when the lady in charge of the food bank started crying when we totaled out tonight (sniff).

We got around 2500 lbs. at Rose-Hulman. Not a whole lot, but better than last year. We only do it over the course of about 2 weeks. We're trying to incorporate it and make it a year round thing. Also, there's another chapter here in town, at ISU. That makes it a bit of a competition!

Northern Colorado's goal was 3000. I think they fell just short.

But, get this, Southern Colorado....

Thumbs up

Lambda Eta at Murray State University raised 20,000 pounds of food for Needline. It was truely a great day to be a Lambda Chi.
We were so afraid that we were going to break the U-hall that we rented. The tires were not looking real strong under all that weight.

I'm assuming this is just an LXA thing? If so, can other orgs help? Our LXA isn't strong at all here (none of our frats are - the woes of being on a commuter campus) but that might be something we can help them with to show greek spirit. Let me know!

And way to go on those totals - even if some may not seem like too very much, it means the world to those in need Proud of you all!

NAFD is the North American Food Drive, which currently is the largest single day philanthropy put together by a fraternity. I believe this is the fifth year of the NAFD, and, chapters and colonies all go out the first Saturday in November to collect food from their local communities and campuses. The food is donated to the local food bank or other similar local charitable organizations to distribute to those in need.

If you'd like to assist in the effort, contact someone at the local LXA chapter on your campus. Although probably too late for this year, most chapters spend a good amount of the year planning for this event, so early notification of interest can definitely help make a difference for those who need a helping hand in feeding their families.

Hope that helps answer your question.
