What is the largest sorority/fraternity chapter?

Browneyedgirl mentioned in Rush that there were two ZTA chapters in her State with over 170 members.

I was wondering what the largest fraternity or sorority chapter is that you know of, either in your group or another, and where it is.

Phi Kappa Psi Chapters

Right now, our Kansas Alpha chapter, at the Kansas University has 98 in-house brothers, and about 150 active. Our Texas Alpha chapter, at UT has about 150 active too.

James,

Do we need to be reminded that this belongs in Greek Life?

If we scold the new kids for posting in the wrong places, we need to scold the old ones too.

I know its scary in the Greek Life forum, but you'll be ok. You might even get OTW to hold your hand over in there.

lol

BTW - our OU chapter is 175 or 180 men. In the 90's they were usually around 120, had a membership drop a few years ago and have apparently rebounded.

Well lifesaver .. . . . I put it here so it would get more observations than chapter ops . . and then when it stops getting posts I can move it and archive it there.

Edited to add: I don't believe I have ever lectured someone on where to post their stuff.

Boy, this is easy.

The Fabulous Xi Chapter at the University of Arkansas, Fayatteville.

Current chapter counts put them at about 150-160 I think, and their house holds 100 easily.

This is the baddest Kappa Sigma chapter, and they know it. You don't go down there as a pledge, at all. Hell, you don't go there as an active unless you know your sh*t.

How big is the Phi Mu Chapter at Ole Miss? I know the most recent Phi Class had 91 women! Surely that chapter is over 200. I bet our Bama chapter is at least that big as well.

I will get stats and repost later

The Phi Mu chapter is over 200... closer to 250... but you should verify that. I think Hotty Toddy is from the Phi Mu chapter at Ole Miss and can probably verify. The range at Ole Miss is 250+/- to 190+/-, with DG being the largest?

Alabama (according to Greek Life) has 160 members. The range at Alabama is 180-66, with Kappa Delta being the largest!

The chapters at UCF have ranged from 150-200 over the past few years. This due to having pledge classes that have ranged from 65-71 new members.

Looks like your thread got moved anyway....

UCLA
None of the chapters at UCLA have over 200 members. Your chapter at USC may though (although my understanding is that the only two at USC over 200 are Kappa and DG, Pi Phi is always close). Chapter total at UCLA is 115 and most chapters are close to that size. Average chapter size at USC is closer to 165-175. The size of chapters ranges from 115 to 210.

There is also a thread on here somewhere that discusses chapter with over 100 members. I don't have the time to do a search right now, I just remember posting in it a few (?) years ago. Of course it may have been lost in the post-9/11 GC shutdown.

I have no idea where ADPi's largest chapter is, but I know Baylor is home to Chi Omega's largest chapter. Campus total is in the low 100s, but some chapters are way over that, and others are way under.

Thank you for the correction... It is our CA Gamma chapter... I miswrote as UCLA, when it is actually USC. I believe, I am at school and unable to look it up, but the CA Gamma has 203+/- members.
