A quote from the "Fight for Matt" facebook page:
Quote:
Recently this summer our Brother Matt Fettig was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). ALL form of cancer of the white blood cells characterized by excess lymphoblasts. Malignant, immature white blood cells continuously multiply and are overproduced in the bone marrow. ALL causes damage and can lead to death by crowding out normal cells in the bone marrow, and by spreading to other organs.
Matt is a Junior here at Oregon State, but due to his illness he is unable to attend school. He has two brothers that attend OSU, as well and are also apart of Phi Delta Theta. The financial burden of medical costs and supporting two young men in school is severe. We are trying to alleviate the financial burden of his family, to allow them to focus on his recovery. Our Greek community here at Oregon State is superb at rallying around a Greek in need. Right now Matt and his family need our help and support, anything you are able to contribute to our cause is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time we greatly appreciate it.

Matt and two of his (biological) brothers are members of Phi Delta Theta's Oregon Beta chapter at Oregon State University. Although Matt is an hour away from OSU, brothers have been in constant contact. Also the chapter has been selling bracelets and tshirts to raise money to offset some of the financial burden. The men also planned a march on campus for awareness. There are other events planned to raise money as well. The alpha chapter at University of Oregon is also participating and both chapters have sold out of the bands.
Such a great example of brotherhood.
