Oh Pat @ Weddings...

I'm getting married in March and would love to have "Oh Pat" sung at the wedding...but there are only going to be 6 or 7 other KKG's! ;( To those of you who have been to other Kappa weddings, or who have had this done at many do you think is too little? Input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I was at a wedding on Saturday and we sang Oh Pat to the Groom, it was so much fun! There were at least 10 of us, but if everybody knows it well and doesn't care that there are only 7 of you...go for it! We also sang 'On the Heart' to the bride before singing Pat.

Well at KappaLadyK's reception in June, it seemed like our whole chapter was there (we had just graduated a few weeks prior). She had 3 out of 6 bridesmaids that are Kappas! We did "Oh Pat" while her and Mr. KappaLadyK (aka PiKappManN if he had greekchat) were in the middle of the circle! It was so much fun and I am definitely planning on doing it at my reception in... June 2008!!

I think a group of 6 or 7 would still have a great time patting!!

Ohh seven Kappas is plenty! It's so much fun for you and for your groom. Just make sure to sing loudly so everyone can hear you!

LuvUTruly isn't kidding, though. There were bunches of Kappas at my wedding, and I think we might have stunned some non-greeks at the reception. WHOOPS. Too bad, my wedding. (I swear I wasn't Bridezilla.) You might be surprised - I had some family friends of the groom come out of the woodwork at the reception and yell "I'm a Kappa, too!" after we sang Oh Pat.

Remember - it's your big day and if you want it, have it!

At a Kappa wedding this summer, there were 6 of us. We wound up singing 'On the Heart' to the bride, which I think really touched her :-) I wish we had thought about it more in advance to have more time to plan, of course, but it was great.

A sister of mine, well our's, got married in May and only a few Kappas showed up. We had a candle-light and after she blew out the candle, we pulled the groom into the middle of our circle and sang "Oh Pat" twice; my chapter likes to sing it slowly once and freakishly quickly again. It was really moving!
