Mizzou Recruitment 2011

Hey all! I'm going to be rushing at Mizzou (University of Missouri) in just under 2 weeks. Recruitment is the 14th to the 20th, and there are 14 chapters total. I'm so excited, but tbh also pretty nervous because I'm from out-of-state and I've only managed to come up with 5/14 rec letters. Also, I'm the first one in my family to rush which is a bit scary. I guess there's no use worrying about it now though... plus, luckily most of the chapters I've gotten letters for are my favorites going in.

The chapters at Mizzou are A Phi, AXO, ADPi, ChiO, DG, DDD, GPhi, Theta, KD, KKG, Phi Mu, Pi Phi, Tri Sig, and ZTA.

I love makeup so the names I'll be using (obviously not in the same order as above) are:

MAC
Stila
Bare Escentuals
Smashbox
NARS
Urban Decay
Bobbi Brown
Shu Uemura
Benefit
Korres
Chantecaille
Make Up For Ever
Too Faced
Laura Mercier

I'll try to stay updated frequently. I'm going back-to-school shopping with my best friend soon and will probably pick up my recruitment outfits then.

I've heard there are 1652 girls rushing this fall - insane!!

Well, hope you enjoy.

Thanks guys, for your support! I've been thinking about rushing for a year or two, so it seems SO crazy to me that recruitment starts just next week. Kind of unreal.

Woohoo! I look forward to your story.

I vividly remember rush/recruitment at Mizzou -- as a rushee/pnm and then as panhellenic vice president and then president.

My school is like 20 minutes away from Mizzou! It's a tiny school, so we go to Columbia/Mizzou ALL THE TIME--especially for football games. There's chapters of all of the sororities at my school at Mizzou, so I'm excited for your story!!

I'm a PX, so I can't say which is mine--but I hope you join it! I have some friends at Mizzou (obviously) so I'm even more excited!

MIZ-ZOU.

Haha I hope my story doesn't disappoint! I hope you have a good time this fall as a Pi Chi. If everything works out well for me, I think I would LOVE to be a Pi Chi in a year or two.

Hey guys. I got to my hotel room about an hour ago after 6 hours of traveling. The hotel I'm staying at has no vacancy - it's completely full with all the girls that are rushing and their families.

Tomorrow is basically the introduction day, where we meet with our Pi Chis and attend a few orientations. Monday is Open House Day.

My parents are leaving tomorrow afternoon after the orientation, and I know this is something everyone has to go through but man I feel really homesick already. So nervous, but also excited.

Is that how they do it there? The girls aren't in a dorm, they get hotel rooms instead? Yes it would cost more but ahhhhhhhhh how nice it would be to come home at the end of the day and find your room all made up and cleaned, and be able to watch whatever you want on tv!

My step-dad just accepted a job offer in Columbia, so my family will be moving there later this year, so this is exciting to read. I've never been to Mizzou but it sounds like a great school. Good luck!

Orientation/move-in day was this morning, but a lot of the out-of-staters arrive Saturday and stay the night so they can have to whole day to unpack and settle in. When I was there, the PiChi's had hotel rooms though!

Good luck and have fun this week, superbity.
