Car

I'm going to be rushing as a freshman in fall 2012 at Texas A&M University. I know this sounds like a dumb question but... what kind of cars are sorority girls driving? I drive a ford ranger (not by choice) and I just feel like it would be out of the norm in a greek world. What do you think?

I don't think you should be worrying about what kind of car you drive but that's just me...

What difference does it make? If you're driving the Ranger "not by choice" then I assume you don't have the ability to just walk into a dealership and drive out in a new Lexus/BMW/Whatever so why does it matter?
sidenote- Recruitment isn't held in the parking lot anyway.

Being an Aggie is a far worse fate.

Just kidding. It's College Station, not SMU or TCU. I don't think anyone cares about your car.

Even if it were... Who cares?! Drive the car you were given and worry about things that actually matter.

How about just being THANKFUL that you have a car of any kind to drive?

Would you want to be part of any organization that would evaluate you on the basis of what you drive?

Please say no....

FYI - At some schools in TX, it IS a big deal/talking point, so her worries aren't completely off-base.

LOL WTF? You give a shit? If I would have asked this at an interest meeting I'd have been escorted out.

This would not be a concern for NPHC GLOs. Even the uppity BGLO chapters tend to get over the fact that not every aspirant and member will have an expensive car or ANY car.

I completely agree. I didn't get a car until I bought it myself at 22. Before that, my mother only let me use it a few times.

Be thankful that you have something to drive.

This is problem of privilege. And yes, having your own car at 18, that you probably didn't pay for yourself, is a privilege. I understand peer pressure and dealing with people who have more money and better "stuff" than I do, but at some point, you just need to worry about what you do have and realize that your life can be so much worse than not having a "cool" or trendy car.

My best friend is an Aggie. Nobody cares what you're driving, and a solid 70% of the campus is driving trucks.
