Omigosh!!! That would be absolutely perfect!!
TNPhiMu, that dress is gorgeous!!! It's almost too beautiful to possibly come up with proper bridesmaid dresses!

Thank you so much! I'm VERY happy with it! I did find pretty good bridesmaids dresses. I think they tie in to my dress well, but not too much.
This is it, but it's in "celadon green" in that satin, instead of the taupe.

Here is a picture of my dress. It's not the best shot since it's an informal fitting at David's Bridal, but you'll get the idea.

There seems to be a goodly share of Irish people on GreekChat, and as I was looking for a gift for the soon to be married sister of "the china impaired Bridget", I found these invitations on ebay. I thought that they'd be lovely, for an Irish wedding!
Somehow, the small photo wouldn't copy:

I admit it - I was thinking of you & the Conservinator! There's a whole set of items to match, like programs, favors, place cards, etc. Enjoy!

My sister and her husband had beautiful wedding invitations with Celtic scroll around the edges. I wish I had a picture.
Today was the Running of the Brides at Filene's. I was tempted to go again this year, but decided against it. Last year I went at 5 PM and ran into one of my fellow alumnae sisters trying on dresses which is how I discovered she was engaged. I tried on over a dozen dresses and bought one which which I still haven't decided if I like or not. Anyway, it's always funny to turn on the news and see brides fighting over dresses.

My friend made us get these bridesmaid dresses in the red taffeta. Pricey. Warning: the bust is roomy compared to the waist, even on very well-endowed women and they really do take 4 months to get. Otherwise, they are totally cute.

Omigosh, I was in on one of those! I think there were 12 of us, and our mission was to grab any dress that was a size 8 and head for a certain corner for the bride to try on.
I don't know that I'd ever willing do that again. In fact, I would probably pay double to NOT be scratched, kicked, hit, and get into a organza tug of war again!
But I still came out better than one woman I saw - she had a black eye (and a smile)!

I love the Claddagh invitations.
< sappy moment >
When my boyfriend and I were forbidden to date, I gave him a claddagh ring that I had, to keep "in confidence" for me. He still carries it in his pocket every day 4 years into our relationship!
< / sappy moment >
that being said, my time here in Northern Ireland has given me so many great ideas for an eventual wedding. I'm going to take a trip over easter break to try to get Irish lace for a veil .

I used an invite that had celtic scroll work along the side and then learned calligraphy that worked with our invites for the outside and all that. The site where I got my invites has some nice ones. I used Irish 2. www.invitationsbykarina.com/irish.htm
