University policy Vs. Chapter policy
Here is the issue; My wife is on her last semester of college and she just need 10 hours to graduate. She originally went on line with AKA at Francis Marion but the line got dropped for undislosed reasons. Years later she transfered to Fayetteville State University where she is about to graduate in a couple of months and she wanted to continue persuing to become an AKA. She meets all chapter and school requirements as far as her grades goes. But all of a sudden the school tells her that she must attend there school for a full year before she can join a Greek organization. Now tell me this. I'm in the military and she follows me where I go; How in the heck could she get a year there if we just got there? Is there anyone she can talk to to hash out this situation?

There is nothing she can do. The school has policies for a reason. It is unfortunate for your wife, but those are the breaks.
There is also no guarantee that she would have been chosen for membership intake if she had met the minimum requirements.
And finally, membership selection and intake is not something that NPHC organizations generally do via the internet. Your wife should be taking this issue up with the school directly.
Remember, membership is not a right.

Your wife CAN stay in school longer. However, as was previously mentioned, she still may not have enough votes to be granted membership.
Remember, she can seek membership on the graduate level. Although, I am sure that you want your wife focusing her attention on establishing her career as opposed to chasing AKA, if you will.
Another thing, since your wife is interested in becoming a member, what steps has she taken to gather information, internet or otherwise?

SeriouslySoror!
To the original poster: Your wife does not have internet access? Can she ask questions for herself? Can she meet my sorors and ask them the deal herself? I suggest going to my sorors instead of talking to school officials? If she wants to be one of us, she should get to know some of us.
I am sick about the fact that you characterized your wife as "following you around" everywhere. Yuck. Maybe your wife will be ready to pursue the sorority when she is finished "following you around" everywhere.
