The Kappa Sisters are currently a club but have applied to become a national charter. They’ll find out soon, but if they are accepted UVU will be the second school in Utah to be associated with the Kappa Delta sorority.

I don't think it would've bothered me as much if they hadn't listed kappa.org as their club website. Although we commonly go by Kappa, it is one of the many Greek letters and as long as they aren't using our symbols, full name, and otherwise trying to imitate us that's fine. But the national website? Weird and crazy. Hopefully if KD does absorb them, the "Kappa Sisters Sorority" will learn some good lessons about the NPC.

ETA: Their "Purpose of Club" is also pulled directly from Kappa's mission statement, just changed KKG to Kappa Sisters (and added a typo):
Kappa Sisters is an organization of women, which seeks for every member throughout her life bonds of friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self growth, respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of an allegiance to positive ethical principles.

Not to derail too far, but how did the AXO issue get resolved?
I have no idea. This came on my radar a few months ago via LucyKKG in the Chit Chat forum and now that they were in the expansion thread I googled and got the student paper article. There is a Kappa Sigma group there too, but no idea what is really going on. Likely it got on the radar of AChiO and Kappa leadership and they handled it. If the admin. didn't attend schools with Greek Life they may not have any idea of proper procedure either and that is why they are open with the NPC now instead of before.

Here's their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orem-U...8075264?v=wall They have pins in their photos, some are locks, and at least one is a key. Interesting.

I hope they get some NPCs but I also hope they get a Sigma Alpha chapter.

Lilly, re: the UVU ridiculousness, I e-mailed HQ about it a few months ago when I first heard about this group. They e-mailed me back pretty promptly and thanked me for it. I doubt we'd expand there after that.

HAHA.

Apparently, someone at HQ thinks Sigma and blorange can go hand in hand.

Well it doesn't surprise me given the chapter east on I-84 and north on I-86 in Pocatello. There are likely many alumnae in that town with a football team who are dips at the chip bowl.

I wonder who else is presenting, considering the amount of people from UI or Albertson who are Greek alumnae and living in the City of Trees.

Hey Everyone!

So I just thought I'd post and tell everyone that Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi, the non-Panhellenic, Jewish-Interest national sorority that is brought up on here every once in a while just initiated a chapter at the University of Missouri. We also recently had our 6th annual national convention, and will initiate another chapter at the end of this academic or the beginning of the next academic year, pending scheduling arrangements. Just figured I'd fill everyone in, because we are expanding in 2009-2010 as well (and occasionally posters seem to wonder what happened to us)!

And maybe I missed it, but I'd love to see lists of who is expanding that isn't NPC, IFC, etc. I know that since we aren't Panhellenic we aren't "the news" but I like to follow what everyone is doing!

Anyways, snaps for Greeks! "No matter the letter, Greeks do it better!"

3rd post in is a list of non-NPC/IFC expansions (that we know of).

That's it- it's not just MCGLO- below that is Christian-based. I guess it your case it would be a new division called Jewish Interest.

Congrats on the chartering.

To be respectful (and not just PC), I changed the title to "Faith-based GLOs".
