Post Old Songs/Videos

I was up late a couple nights ago watching Midnight Love on BET. They played that Troop (remember Troop?) video 'All I Do Is Think Of You'. I was GRINNING! I used to LOVE that song.

Back in the day, remember, there used to be a few songs that would get you out of the bed on a school day. Any SWV song would have me up and dancing around. The same goes for Tevin Campbell. What the HELL went wrong with him? Anyway, what were everybody's EARLY MORNING FAVORITES?

The song that will always get me out of bed is "Groove Me" by GUY. Girl, as soon as I hear this song I start dancing around all over the house!! There was a part in it toward the end that went: THE PARTY'S NOT OVER! Then the beat would start up again!
Also, LL Cool J's "Jingling Baby"
You're jingling baby, go head baby!!!

In a daze and it's so amazing
It's not a phase, I want you to stay with me

Uh oh.... Not BDP! Old school hip hop, you want?
Where isMC Lyte?

I'm not a witch doctor
Or a faith healer
Won't sell you dreams
Like a car dealer
I can only do what you allow me to
You got no soul? That's a rough one, ooh
Let's see what I can do to heal this sickness
No problem. I got the cure with a quickness
Since I began, I've been in demand
And if anyone can give you soul, MC Lyte can

...and wasn't 'Weak' the song? I miss SWV.

Boy there you go. You're tellin me that you love me.
But boy you know that you belong to another girl who loves you.
You are so fiiiine. You blow my mind
With the things you do to me.
She's not blind. She sees the thing you do for me.
I'm so into you
I don't know what I'm gonna do

I've heard a boatload of other ladies' raps
but they aint got nothin' on me
I'm less than Five foot one
a hundred pounds of fun
I like sophisticated funk
I live on Dom Perignon
Caviar, filet mignon
and you can best that's bunk
Here's what I'm talking baby

Young man there's no need to feel down
I said young man pick yourself off the ground
I said young man 'cause your in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy

Young man there's a place you can go
I said young man when you're short on your dough
You can stay there and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything For young men to enjoy.
You can hang out with all the boys.

is this not the gayest song in the world....

At the risk of being laughed out of the room, every now and then I put on my Jets album and listen "boy you got it all over him, you got me over him, out on a limb . .." Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers that.

And The Boys. Remember when everyone thought Hakeem was so cute? And there would always be some girl who'd be like, "yeah, I live across the street from them; they live in Carson." I swear, I never believed Jawana (and yes, that was her name).
"I call my baby on the phone
gotta leave a message just to let her know
that if she ever feels alone
to dial my heart."
The first album was great and then it all went downhill. Kinda like the Tevin Campbell phonomenon, though he held on a little longer.

As for Teena Marie, Portuguese Love is my fav, right up there with Square Biz.

And don't even get me going on Chaka Khan. I'm always stealing, oops I mean "borrowing" my mother's CD.

I still jump up whenever I hear "Candy" by Cameo. The end of my "Best Man" tape (when they start to do the electric slide to "Candy") has been played to death...

OK, I'm gonna go waaaay back --- Earth WInd and Fire's "September" and that Stevie Wonder song (also in "The Best Man"), "I'll be Loving You Always".
