Smile Meaningfull Saying

With The New Year Just starting, the advent of Re-Chartering of The U.No. Co. , having met so many Brothers on Greek Chat, the help by several, I thought this might be meaningful to so many of us!

We're Not Brothers from Birth, We knew that from the start, but God put us together to be Brothers of the Heart.

Very nice, Tom!

That reminds me of the following poem - most LXA's have seen this before, but, just in case - and this is my favorite "life guiding" message outside of the Bible, and is very relevant to what the alumni's role should be:

The Bridge Builder

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide --
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pit-fall be,
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Cool

S H, I have never seen this before but is so true for what the Brotherhood of Lambda Chi Alpha means!

We are but a speck in time of LXA, But, The Brothers whom follow are the ones that keep building that Bridge of life for those that are to follow each and everyone of us!

It is the memories that sometimes fail us, along with so many Names and Faces, but the times will always be held in the Heart of us all.

The new Brothers are Our Heritage and what keeps us all interested after the Semi-Magical 4-5 years of College!l

It reminds me of a Son that was lost.

This page has great Greek Quotes. As IFC Secretary, I put a new one on each weeks minutes. I don't know if anyone reads them or not, but maybe they inspire someone.

Cool

Brother Matt,

I did check the listed link and had tears in eyes while reading them. These are some of the most Heart rendering posts I have ever seen. Not only from Brothers of LXA, but from so many other Greek Organizations.

A job well done!! I would ask you to post this on GreekChat as a link in GreekLife. It is fantastic.

Thank you!
