That's conservative for even a Mormon bride.

Not if it is a temple wedding. It actually looks allot like the dress my boss' daughter wore to her temple wedding. I only saw the pictures though, since no one from work was invited; we weren't temple-worthy.

Hmmm...I've driven by the Seattle area's big Mormon temple on many Saturdays when a few brides and grooms are out taking photos in the gardens...the dresses they're wearing all look pretty typical of the popular gowns today, only they have sleeves. Do they change into that super-covered-up one when they get inside, I wonder? Since only Mormons can attend a Mormon temple wedding, I guess only a Mormon could tell us. Any LDS Greekchatters?

Or maybe my boss' daughter is just super conservative. I guess I shouldn't judge all Mormons based on the one that I know!

I love retro 50's style!! I always thought the look have a "happy feel" to it plus it's a classic look. I think it's great Daughter #2 wore the dress. That's so cool.

I totally agree. Being 5'2, when I buy skirts (a rare occurrence) I try to make sure they hit just above the knee so I look taller.

Thanks. I usually use yahoo but vary in the words that I search with i.e. short dresses, 50's dresses, etc..you get the idea.

I'm luckily sitting less than 10 feet from three Mormons so I asked. For those weddings the same dress (covered, sleeved, modest) was worn for both.
