And Jessa has given birth: Newest Seewald. At that weight, I totally understand not opting for a home birth!

I agree that was a big baby. I do find it sort of ironic through that both of them (I honestly don't remember their names), that the other one who gave birth before I remember reading how she was super talking up having a home birth and this and that, and she ends up having a c-section. Although hopefully the newest Duggar mom is ok since the article didn't specify what was going on.

That was Jill. And the irony is rich! I think it's easy to say, "Sure, I want a home birth," if you've never had a child. Then comes labor!

Did anyone hear the 911 call Michelle made after the birth because Jessa hadn't stopped bleeding?

So they have named the kid... Spurgeon Seewald - after some Baptist preacher. My brain keeps trying to read it as Sturgeon or Surgeon. (pic lifted from FreeJinger)

It's not the worst baby name I've ever heard (I'm looking at you, Bronx Mowgli and Pilot Inspektor) but it's up there.

I understand naming a baby after someone you admire (says the woman with a father named after two presidents & an uncle named "John Wesley Theodore Roosevelt"). I do wish, however, that they used Spurgeon as the middle name. Elliot isn't a whole lot better, though.

Makes you wonder what other S names they'll use.

Poor kid is gonna have to live with that awful name. I can't even think of what a decent nickname would be.

I read somewhere that they had been calling him Quincy before he was born. I hope they call him that.
