Question Greek Sing/Airband/Derby Days

Every year at my school there is a HUGE greek competition called Airband...some call it Greek Sing or Derby Days. Pretty much the sororities work months in advance and fraternities a week before. Each organization has a theme and they put together a bunch of songs to dance to. Each performance being 10 min.

I was wondering if anybody had ideas for my chapter. Or know of a school who does the same thing so i could maybe get in contact with someone there as well.

Thanks so much!

Hey there,

Work with the talents your group has. If you have some good singers, actors, or dancers, build your performance around that art form, and put them in charge of leading the group. It's hard when you have a vision and it doesn't match the strengths of the group, but if you really want to have success, just work with your talent.

If you come up with an art form you want to work with, PM me- maybe I can give some more thoughts.

We have Greek Sing here but it part of Greek Week. As for the topic or idea we do.....Each chapter has to submit 3 topic to the Greek Week Directors, then the chapter delegate draws three topics for a box/hat/whatever and then the chapter votes on what topic we want. We are only allowed to practice 2 weeks in advanced. Both sororities and fraternities.

We have Greek Sing here at Univ. of Missouri-Rolla but it is more of a "Battle of the Bands" thing.

If you go to utube and look up greek sing or derby days you can find a lot of videos that could give you some ideas.
