Just got back from my morning run at the gym. As I was leaving, I waved to the lady at the front desk, and I said "Happy Mothers Day" assuming she was a mom. I mean, she looked older, so I thought she was. Then she goes --"I don't have any kids, but it is a happy day for me for that very reason". I laughed so hard. Freaking hilarious.

Then she goes "You're not a mom, are you?" Then I said, "Well, with a puppy, two cats, a tarantula, and an emperor scorpion, I guess that makes me a mommy".

I know it's only 3 hours, and I do get to see my mom generally at least once a month, but it still sucks living so far away from her and my dad. So glad I get to see them both today....

Last week I bought a really cute spring dress to wear to church, today. I was really looking forward to wearing it, too. But, the weather wasn't having it. I ended up wearing my Burberry, instead.

Today, I mailed in my rent early for the month of May, and I also decided to mail in the month of June, too. I mean, my lease is up June 15th, and since none of my things (including my bed) are there anymore, I figured why not just send it in now. I also asked if I could turn my key in early, and they said yes.

Perfect place for a house. I do almost everything in Novi, my gym is here, too. So far, 2013 has been a wonderful year for me, and there's still more to come. I remember during the summer of 2007, I said that day/month, that I was the happiest woman on Earth. That was the summer I found out that I was accepted to MSU school of vet medicine. Then, in early 2011, when I got my letter saying I passed the NAVLE, that day/month was the happiest day/month of my life. Then, when I graduated in May of the same year, I said that was the happiest day of my life, with the exception of my mom who kept stressing me out on graduation day.

But, August of this year will trump all of that.

Congrats! My sister and her husband are still looking for a house in Joplin. The inspection on their first offer revealed black mold throughout. The real estate market there is very strange, because the tornado devastated so many houses. Many houses that are on the market are reconstructed. It looks like that one must have been a partial reconstruction after exposure to the elements post-tornado. All the new houses have some form of panic room, storm basement, etc., which all the realtors point out immediately. The tornado strongly affected the psyche of the town.
