Motorcycle and Scooters

I was wondering if any other GCer's out there beside me ride a motorcycle or scooter?

My biggest complaint?
1. Smokers who flick their butts out their car window (in front of me) and the ashes come back in my direction.
2. Tailgaters--Come on now, I'm crusing at 55 and the idiot is right on my a$$
3. rain, wind, oil on the road, small roadkill (hard to see until the last second), potholes, speedbumps, thick painted lines on the road

Best things about the ride and owning a bike:
1. No traffic jams
2. easy parking
3. easy on the gas
4. Can "pass gas" as much as I want--it's true
5. White lining-- it's legal here in California
6. Great way to pick up guys--when I carry my helmet around..
7. Low registration fees--just got my renewal, $45 (hee, hee)

BTW, I 've been riding for 12 years..

I used to, and gotta say every spring, it gets harder and harder not to get another one!!

My biggest pet peave ould be people NOT looking when they change lanes!! That happend atleast 10 times, one azzzzhole cut over 3 lanes and missed me by less than a foot. Luckily I saw him looking around and acting weird so I slowed down. Sliding to a stop at 60 mph would not be fun!

I miss my bike so bad!! I had a '95 Ninja ZX9R. I absolutely loved that bike!! I had a Muzzy system, sprockets, jet kit, lowered, polished frame...

What do you have???

While I haven't owned by own bike since my dirt bike days (when I was about 13), I still love riding. My father has riden since before he drove a car, I think. A few months ago I got to ride on his brand new Honda Gold Wing. I didn't think I'd like it, but it's a nice ride! Very smooth. And it has a radio. But my fave feature is the handlebars that can heat up if it's cold out! And he makes a lot of long trips (2-3 days), so it's great for that. The worst thing is that it's about 800lbs. so he has to be careful with it, like when he's washing it and it's parked in his yard & it starts to sink into the wet ground.

I just wanted to say that someday I will ride again , but I, too, enjoy them. (And yes, I'm a girl).

Why did you get rid of it?

I have a Yamaha Riva 180 ( yes, it's freeway legal) Top speed is 80 but I 've only been able to get it to 78. I've owned two other scooters prior to this one, both Riva's and 89 and an 85. I killed the 85, somehow I got the engine to lock on me and the 89 was stolen. I like the one I have now but it's time to move on to bigger and better bikes. I'm searching for a Ninja 250 or 500. I'm 5'2 so that's a consideration, being able to touch the ground. Those bikes are slim so the gas tank is not a problem. I would get something bigger but I'd have to have the seat lowered and the gas tank issue, I don't know if I'd be able to reach around it.

I sold it because it was starting to have some issues with the transmission, so I wanted to sell it before it was really bad. Now if I get a new bike I want a Hayabusa or an R1. The 'Busa would be my first choice though.

If you wanted a bigger bike, you could always lower it. I dropped mine about 2 inches and could sit at a stop light VERY comfortably, but I am 6'2. Alot of companies make lowering kits for alot of different bikes. Its mostly for drag racing but I didnt have any issues with bottoming out in any corners, just gotta know the limits. I also cut some foam out of the seat..

OWNED a Vespa ,that is a scooter! Rode a Ducati and it rained and did not know how to stop it!

New to many scooter COPS that fell off of them and they AINT RIGHT! PEELED to Many off pavement, that aint really right!

Damn Zorba our mascot ate the seat and some dumb female driver would not let me pass at 45 mph!

God told me Boy get off 2 wheelers!
