Sorry it's the promo photo, but this is the limited edition Alpha Xi convention badge. It's rose gold (not typically offered, to my knowledge), with alternating pearls and cz. I think most unique is the stick pin closure.

The stick pin is really cool. Meh on the alternating pearls and cz. Love the rose gold!

Question: the rose gold - is that an option for any other NPC sorority? I LOVE it, but it would not work for Theta.
And on a personal note, I think it kind of symbolizes the Golden Gate Bridge. Well, kind of? A little? (I'm trying here, give me some credit).

I love that the stick pin is a throw back to the founders' pins:
ETA: Two other quills from that page. I haven't seen them in the thread before, but I admit it took me a loooong time to get through so many wonderful pages.

Every time I see turquoise on a badge that is "old", I just sigh. Turquoise - the really good stuff - is long gone. The feathers on that '98 quill are exquisite.
I'd forgotten about the original stick pin badge for Alpha Xi...Sheesh. I'm slipping...

Forgive me...
I'm old school, I know, but I can't abide the use of CZs in nice jewelry.

I have to agree. I'm not even wild about gold-fill, but I understand that it's necessary. Maybe that's why I'm not loving the red, white, and blue ADPi pin? Fake stones and on silver - wonder how it would look on yellow gold?

I'm not really jiving to it either (not that my opinion of it really maters ). I saw the picture and though, "Oh, that's cute." Cute isn't really the feeling badges should evoke to me, which is why I'm "meh" on it.
I'd like to see the rose gold Alpha X Delta badge in person. I wouldn't have noticed it was rose gold from the picture alone.

Half swooning over the thought of our chased Gamma in rose gold with the Delta and pearled Alpha as they are now--sigh! Lovely badges, everyone!

I grimaced a little too.
My quill is white gold, with alternating pink sapphire and pearls, with a chased double letter guard.

The only green XO badge I've ever seen!
1904 Emerald Badge of Lucille Gibson Hopkins, the 8th initiate of Chi Chapter of Chi Omega at Transylvania University (KY). Donated to the HQ by her granddaughter. It wasn't until 1906 that a vote was taken at Convention to only allow pearls & diamonds in the Chi Omega badge. This is an extremely rare and very precious gift.
