Wow, I haven't been on GC in ages!

Good news, gals! I got the days off and I will be in Palm Springs next week!

Now, I need to find outfits and a red dress! My registration packet said I can also accessorize with red, so my last resort will be that. I'm so excited for my first convention!

I'm accesorizing with red.. I just couldn't find anything dressy enough that didn't make me look cheap or like the side of a barn.

I am hoping that Convention will be a ton of fun!

Sorry to crash, but AOII had their Convention there in June 2001 - OMG, was it HOT!!! Even inside, the humidity was rampant! Definately suggest bringing a little sweater for anything inside - that A/C can be really chilly!! (If you are at the Marriott Desert Springs - the pools and gym are AWESOME!)

Have a fabulous time!!!

We're at the Marriott Rancho Las Palmas. It is chilly inside but I would not say it's humid inside or out. Palm Springs, like the rest of So Cal, has dry heat and I've been to this hotel before and it wasn't over humid inside.

Only a few more days. Last night I did a bunch of Convention shopping. YEAH!!!

I live an hour away from Palm Springs and i can tell you it is definitely not humid. DRY DRY HEAT!

I am getting more and more jealous i want to go but budget wise being out of work for surgery for 6 weeks has hurt a lot.

Hope you all have a great time!

Gosh I can't believe it's almost time! Sistermadly, you are too funny about the red dress thing. You're right, red was tough to find. My dress is a little "young" and "cha-cha" but I figured what the heck and decided to go for it! Candlelight is such a great opportunity to get dressed up in something FUN. I live out in an itty-bitty town now where Denny's is the best thing going. Yikes!! But who knows, I'll probably pack my black dress anyway in case I chicken out.

Please tell me that people aren't packing three outfits per day. I'll be woefully underpacked if that's the case.

C - How many outfits depends upon the day. Most days are only one or at most two outfits. Friday is probably going to be more like three only b/c we have sessions in the morning, initiation in the afternoon, Move Your Phit after initiation, and then dinner and reunions at night.

Can't wait to see everyone!

*whew* That's a relief! I was planning on one per day except for Friday. Of course, when it actually comes time to pack, I'll probably overpack like usual.

Let's see...

thursday is collegiate awards which I am packing another dress for...(black Ann Taylor tank and LD's pink pashmena)

friday - need business attire for convention assembled, white for initiation and shorts and SNEAKERS for move your feet. Dinner is going to be a casual buffet so I may actually wear move my feet clothes to that because I am not sure I will have time to change before.

Wed night is casual.

Hey i believe in the fine art of overpacking.....rather have to much than not the right essentials!

My theory is this...3 outfits a day at leat you can pick and choose and change up outfit attires.

So is it for sure convention will be in Florida next time around?

Overpacking is a great strategy. Even if the occasions of the day don't necessarily *require* a change of clothing, it is sometimes nice in the hot weather to freshen up with something different. Know what I mean?

*POUT* I think I'm going to miss initiation due to Rush U ...
