Smile Did you wear your Pin/badge at H.S. reunion?

For all the Alumnae in GC,
Have you recently attended your 10+ high school reunion wearing you pin/badge? If so, were you suprised to see old classmates suddenly become your sister/brother? Just wondering if anyone had positive greek experiences at their H.S reunion.

Funny you should mention this... the registration form for my 10-year H.S. reunion is currently buried on my desk somewhere

I haven't decided whether to wear my pin or not. A couple of my H.S. acquaintances stopped talking to me when they found out I went greek so I'm not sure how it would go over.

My husband and I went to his 10-year reunion last year, and I didn't see anyone with any GLO insignia.

I had my 5 year reunion last summer... I hadn't seen most of my high school classmates since graduation day.

I didn't wear my pin, but I did wear my lavalier. One of my friends had gone Kappa Beta Gamma at her school, but no one else was greek (or if they were, they didn't mention it). I did get a lot of the You joined a sorority? type comments though... but then again most of my classmates didn't go to college, so I think they all have the "Dying to Belong"/Animal House image in mind.

When I attended my highschool reunion, I didn't wear my badge. I didn't see any badges. I do remember when I was in HS one of my teachers wore his Phi Beta Kappa ring everyday.

There was altogether too much alcohol at my high school reunion for me to wear my pin. Considering we got kicked out of the place for bringing an extra keg of our own, it's a good thing I didn't.

Wink GLO Stuff...

I have a ring with the Crest that I wear frequently that I wore for one event at my HS Reunion. It felt really nice to have a conversation about college and what I spent my time doing...good ice breaker. 4 of us went Greek...none to the same house and I would have to say that I had the best experience. One girl pledged and then moved away, another girl from my class pledged a house and then de-pledged and another one pledged another house and hated it but stayed in...ugh she was a basket case. Anyway, sorry for the tangent...I do like having that crest ring b/c I can wear it anyplace and not feel bad if alcohol is being served.

And, to 33rdGirl (?)...I laughed about your keg story...my 10 year we ended up out on the lake in a stolen pontoon boat...maybe we should have a joint reunion next time--LOL...

pin and alcohol

In the BGLO's we typically buy several different pins w/ our letters on them, but we only have one BADGE from HQ. The regs for wearing the official one are much stricter. When wearing just the letters, a wider range of behavior is acceptable. But, that still doesn't make keg stands ok.

Had I found my badge in time, I would have proudly worn it at my recent 20-year class reunion. It's not lost, just put away for safekeeping right now. I did wear my Open Book recognition pin and a special Masonic pin that was given to me by the then-Grand Master of Masons of Oklahoma with a diamond chip in the compasses.

I didn't wear my badge but I did wear my arrow lavalier to my 10-year reunion. It's a subtle way of showing my loyalty, one that I sometimes wear to work as well.

awww. We have a quatrafoil charm that some women wear instead of a lavelier or letters (when expressly showing your sorority affiliation might not be appropriate.)

pic:

So Phi Mu has the quatrafoil and Pi Phi has the arrow pendant... what do the rest of y'all do?

Come to think of it, I think my former roommate the Tri Sig wore a sailboat sometimes...

Pin alternatives

Our mascot is the French Toy Poodle. Some of my Sorors take this to the extreme, and have poodle lapel pins, shirts, collectibles that take over their homes, earrings, necklaces, etc.
