2011/2012 Colonies/Expansions/Charters/Closures

Alpha Sigma Tau has been invited to colonize at Rhode Island College in the spring of 2013! We will be joining Delta Phi Epsilon as the 2nd NPC sorority on campus. That makes 4 colonies for AST in the coming school year. It's so exciting to see the payoff of all the hard work our expansion team has been putting in

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but it's usually by whomever will be overseeing GL. Campus Life Directors/Student Activities peeps.

Based on the press release, it doesn't sound like it. I believe this is completely from the ground up.

That is how it was done at UC Merced. And they also were starting a whole new UC campus at the time.

yes that is the case but NPC groups are still very successful there

I know, I'm from CA and am familiar with what they have going on, just wondering if the administration had changed its opinion about Greek Life in the past few years.

At least they're spread out - two in VA, one in CA, one in OK. No one alumnae association will be completely burned out!

And my DH, also a huge soccer fan, would comment that Juliette & Jessminda from Bend It Like Beckham would be eligible for Santa Clara! Yes, that's how he thinks at times!

Pi Kappa Alpha is suspended at Ohio U; the chapter might be able to return after the suspension is lifted. Marijuana is cited as a factor. See article posted at
